Yeah we’re very fortunate in that regard. Puts a lot into perspective when we experience a lengthier than normal dry spell, versus out west

What makes it even worse out west is they simply don't get much rain even on a normal year, in many places. So a drought is a drought in an already dry location.

    For Islip:

High was 53.  That's -16 for the date.

Low was 50 (so far).  I'm at 49.  I'm expecting upper 40s.  Anyway, the 50 is -2 for the date.

    -8 departure so far.

Yes the nighttime lows are not nearly below normal like todays high. Looking forward to Thursday sun and 70s.

This webcam is still live on Sanibel.  I am surprised that the visibility is so good and few trees down.  They have to be in the eyewall.  https://www.mysanibel.com/live-street-cams?utm_campaign=SanCapChamber&utm_medium=referral&utm_source=SanCapChamber

The webcam called periwinkle and casa ybel W. shows the surge coming in on Sanibel When I checked this webcam a few minutes ago the water was just reaching this area. Now look at it.

Someone on the main thread mentioned key west webcams, anyone have a link to those?

Just go to google and type in key west webcams. You get Duval st. which I believe is downtown and another cam that shows a harbor area.

The surf was lower than had been forecast at Robert Moses, too. The waves had been forecast to be around 10’ but were generally 4’-5’.

I was at Jones Beach for the high tide last night about 6:30. The waves were big but they were rolling type waves and it would be 3 or 4 large waves and then much more calm for a bit then larger swells again. Also some over wash. Today sounds somewhat calmer.
