Hi All So I've always wondered why the averages the way they are. I think they should be broken down by specific pattern. For example- What would the average high in January in NYC be for all El Ninos, La Ninas? Average high for all -NAO, Average high for a sunny day, average high for a cloudy day? So it NYC has a +3 day, but we're in a Nina pattern, what is the average during La Nina on a cloudy day? It may be a degree warmer? or cooler? Maybe that' asking a bit much but what are your thoughts on this?

Yup. But as Temps rise outside, heat pump getting warmer. Now up to 66. It's just a heat pump system that I think is just enough up to code ( it's a new development) where it works fine if the temperature is over 25. Builder went as low cost as possible.

Got down to 7 here. Heat pump struggling to maintain 60.

Today is the anniversary of the 2009 blizzard. It was the largest total I received locally in Shirley NY at 21" between 2009-2018

When i lived in Shirley, I planted a windmill in 2010. I covered with burlap each winter but it succumbed to the cold Feb 2015 we had.

Back on LI for 2 weeks. Just love the marine influence smell here. Something I really took for granted while I lived here and never noticed that much until I moved away. Even though it was coolish today, the air had a humid Martine feel that I now miss living in central NC. Below is a photo taken at the TWA memorial at Smith Point Beach around 6pm today where it was in the low 60s at that time.

73 high - low 43 - it HAS been dry- also lack of humidity. Dewpoint high this month so far has only been 60, whereas last year it was 73 only 0.22" for the month so far, which occurred on the 1st

Chilly start to October. Had to give in and turn on the heat today - started off sunny but became overcast by about 11am High - 63 Lo - 45

50/76 split on the day, didn't get as low as i thought it would, clouds throughout the night - kept temps up

73/46 split on the day today already down to 54 at 8:30pm. I think I'll bottom out 42-44 range
