  1. It was a letdown for sure. But we'll pick up the pieces of the broken models and put them back together and anxiously await another model run that shows copious amounts of snow for our region in the distant future.
  2. Looks like a lot of disappointment today. How can some of these models that showed a lot of snow the last 2 weeks not verify? Are we expecting too much accuracy from these models 1 to 2 weeks out? I know it's only a tool but still... Well I guess it's time to move on to Spring which will be here in a few weeks. Looking forward to thunderstorms at this point.
  3. Carpet and tile guys slammed the door shut on Pa. getting a snow storm. They said there's too much misinformation on that storm.
  4. At this conjecture, what are everyone's feelings on this storm coming more north? Mine is I'm on the fence at this point. Tomorrow probably later in the day there should be a much better consensus of where this is going.
  5. Same here peaked to 41.4 this morning then went back to 36 basically the rest of the day.
  6. Temps were supposed to get to 50 here today. They only made it to 41 here.
  7. The American Storm @BigJoeBastardi This is really pretty interesting. The better the upper air pattern goes with the negatives coming right through the slot, the further out the model pushes the storm. Well at the very least if it’s right I’ll get to see something that I can’t recall seeing. That kind of negative should produce an I 95 blizzard DC to Boston So the call from February 11 remains if I have to change it I’ll change it on Tuesday because until this feature comes out of the Rockies I’ve said too many of these flip flop around. If you’re standing on the ledge don’t jump off yet Last edited12:50 PM · Feb 16, 2025 from Pennsylvania, USA ·

  9. From JB: he American Storm @BigJoeBastardi · 15m Models have shifted southeast since this, but I think should shift back west. This was eye candy, but the threat of the coastal MA blizzard we outlined Feb 11 still very much alive and kicking.
  10. Its a mess here that inch of snow yesterday then the rain the ground was starting to get above freezing then it froze overnight now its melting from the top down but ground is still below freezing. Making for a slushy mess thats adhering to the ground with water standing on top. Hope it melts before tonight or it will freeze to a thin layer of ice.
  11. If we don't have a winter storm to get excited about right now. We have this high wind warning to replace that storm. If it gets bad (power companies cold be overwhelmed) some people could be without power for more than 24 hours. Being without power with those winds and cold temps won't be pleasant.
  12. That must have been bad on Peters Mountain this morning State Police were there like rescuing people that were stranded. Peters mountain as I keep saying is a dividing line on the weather between the Lower Susquehanna and the Middle Susquehanna.
  13. It was announced on abc27 this morning. Do not go over Peters Mountain if you don't have too. It is a solid sheet of slush and ice. I am currently stranded at the top and cars are stuck everywhere. It is 618 Sunday morning
  14. There were some brutal winters in the mid late 70's. I experienced them. In January 1977 the ground was froze 2feet down.
  15. Years ago for many years we could count on one big storm for every winter. And that consisted of a storm that produced at least 8 inches. But that don't seem like it happens much anymore.
  16. Every forecaster has their own way of interpretation of the models. But we need this storm to make it a complete witer.
  17. So much to be determined yet.wish we had a clear consensus on the outcome now. That way we can either stick a fork in it or get and extra 5 gallons of gas for the snowblower. Time will tell, we still have a few days to get a clearer picture.
