Drought update: I have received 4.63 precipitation so far this month and 6.47 for the year. Andrea Michaels FOX43 DROUGHT IMPROVEMENTS A little good news for parts of the state! This morning, the weekly Drought Monitor Update was released, and there are some improvements. The most notable change was in South Central PA, where much of Mifflin, Juniata, and Perry counties saw improvement, along with portions of Dauphin and Lebanon counties. They went from D1 (Moderate Drought) to D0 (Abnormally Dry). The far eastern Lehigh Valley saw spottier improvements, going from a D2 (Severe Drought) to D1. Hopefully more rain will keep it coming!

US National Weather Service State College PA 3/19/2026: It's been 6 weeks. Since Groundhog Day: Harrisburg has swung from colder than normal to generally warmer than normal. There hasn't been much snow at all. What did Phil say?

My take on the severe weather that was supposed to happen but really didn't get it's act together. Social Media, TV were saying it could happen and let the public know. But it seems the public now won't believe the media if there is a real threat in the near future, and there could be property damage and injuries, and loss of life from not heeding warnings. I understand forecasts aren't perfect. But if the models are hinting at something like severe weather, we should all pay attention and take the necessary precautions.

Seems quite unusual that CTP is strongly on board for this event. They are usually pretty conservative.
