I was surprised my high was 87 yesterday, welcome back summer.

Especially since Capital Region Water is gonna start drawing out of the river soon. They will shut down Dehart supply to fix pipes I think for about 2 weeks.

Still have 1 or 2 here. The males left the week before Labor day. I'm sure they'll be gone by next week.

Of course even asking the question that way implies that there is or might be some kind of connection and that is not at all known or proven. So really this is just a bunch of speculation What is interesting about this data is the number of interesting Winters which are associated with the cool august. There are 72 different reporting stations on this list. 26 of the 72 stations listed reported their coolest August since either 1992… 2013… 2014… and 2017. In other words about 1/3 of the stations listed here ended up having significant Winters. Now this is a really bad way to draw any conclusions this early in the game. A more useful study might be to take a look at all the months of August in the last 100 years to find out which one of them has had temperatures that were significantly below normal and what those following Winters were like. But that is a long-term project and something to do over the next few weeks

My short term bucket list is getting some heat back here in Pa. But according to some weather follower, that won't be the case this year anymore.
