  1. Full on snow globe! Heaviest snow of the season x 10
  2. Best looking Radar of the winter! Too bad it will last 8 minutes. Flakes getting big!
  3. Can confirm it’s pouring freezing drizzle. How do I know, been smoking/grilling a turkey for the last 4 hours. It’s done! Temp 29, just so I stay legal...
  4. Ef this winter, I am good with an early and dry spring! Bring it!
  5. Sleeting so hard it’s peeling bark off the trees. Kiddo wants to go sledding, will see how long that lasts. Temp 28
  6. Just raise out elevation to about 7000’!
  7. Yeah, not sure you heard, DC climate is Atlanta’s from the 1980’s now.
  8. Par for the course, we will take out 3” of sleet and like it! Actually makes for great sledding, icy and on ball bearings! My son is excited, plus they just cancelled schools in Ffx county.
  9. Snow is way more fun I am afraid to ask what you do with snow...temp32.5, DP19
  10. “A weather weenie is someone who obsesses about some aspect of weather and, at times, that obsession rules their life.” I think you could use is it as a noun, verb and adjective.
  11. High 36.5, 35.1 now, DP 15 (nice). The Sun is like a laser!
  12. This is Thunder, pic taken when we were up in Deep Creek, Md. Like the name? I am such a weather nerd. He barks like Thunder for sure!
  13. Warnings up, awaiting the cvs receipt length postings soon...
  14. This was where I grew up, Duluth, GA NE of Atlanta. They are everywhere in GA now. Probably up to southern Virginia by now.
  15. Y’all are creeping me out with fire ant stories, my brother almost died from those MFers. He was stung about a thousand times after stepping in a mound while retrieving a basket ball. Quick trip to the ER where they didn’t even mess with paper work and got him in right away. Reason 10,019 I don’t miss Georgia.
  16. So for some happy thoughts, 6 years ago today. 2015 when getting 6 inches of Champaign powder wasn’t like pulling teeth! We weren’t the snow anus back then!
  17. Yea, I’m brown! Good color for the snow anus of the mid Atlantic!
  18. Cool aspiratus or undulatus or whatever they call them now. I seem to always see them before a storm! Nice picture!
  19. Don’t jinx it! If this falls apart I am blaming you! Temp 38, DP 20something, breezyish....from the north or so.
  20. Us low landers have grown to accept it, sleet is the poor mans snow. Watch for my sleetman pics on Thursday!
  21. Probably the best example is feb 14 2007, it has been thrown about lately. Was supposed to be a big ice storm, but we got a nice thump of 2-3inches of snow, then about 3 inches of sleet, then a glaze of ice. It was like a glacier. Happened at night, so not much to see. I was in a big sleet storm in Georgia in the 80’s, poured sleet, pretty miserable to be out in.
  22. For those wondering, here’s what’s going on https://www.weather.gov/media/rnk/88D-generator-replacement.pdf answer to my own question, 6-8 days...but in government talk that could mean anything?
  23. Anyone know when the Blacksburg Radar will be fixed. The angle of our snow is coming from that area, it’s annoying as f that it’s down.
