    Happy new year, woke up a little late to see it but exactly 1 inch here ...temp went from 34° at 6 am to 24° currently.

    Still a steady lite snow falling, enough to recoat shoveled sidewalks. Temp down at 23°.

    To go along with a -4° temp departure...nice wintery month .

    Snowed at a nice mostly moderate with some lighter periods since around midnight here on si....just measured at 4" on the nose, temp down to 25°. Melted of 0.52"..…so all in all not too far off from what was expected for my area . Over 10" for the month now.

    Yeah just 0.8" snow/sleet on si... Melted of just 0.21"... guidance had around 0.75" total.

    6" here on si.. Rather light during the night but really picked up at around 6 am. LE of 0.55".

    0.29" here overnight... Pretty good considering.

    Hope so...it seems every system coming up from the south has high pressure building down from the north at the same time, suppressing it...just bad timing or what?

    By "wireless" we mean the connection between the outside unit and the inside console. The console is still powered by AC with battery backup.

    Yes me also. Had Davis equipment back in the 90's before the vantage pro came out. Also had a heathkit thermometer which I built with my dad probably 45 years ago.

    Remember the old days Rob of installing weather equipment...no wireless yet...running wires, drilling holes in the house to get the wires to the inside unit. I've had an anemometer up on the roof for as long as I can remember... luckily it's a ranch home so not too high... don't think I can go up there anymore so hoping it continues to work well.

    I'm 65 now....I have written records that began uninterrupted when I was 13. I think ive been doing this since maybe 10 years of age or maybe younger. Come to my house and see all my weather equipment I've purchased over the decades...my basement looks like a weather museum lol.

    My precip here from 9/1/24 to present is 35.50"... Normal for that period is around 55.50" so a -20" departure . Btw had 0.05" last night.

    Would just be a continuation of every event underperforming, if it does turn out that way. Been going on for awhile now .

    BTW that total is about a -20" departure over the almost 13.5 month period!

    From 9/1/24. My total is 34.41", that's when drought really started... Aug though was quite wet here with over 6" of rain .

    Some station drought numbers... Mtd 0.19" , Last 30 days 0.74" , Ytd 25.70".

    Astro summer rain here of 8.34" was 4th lowest in 45 years of record.

    30 days here of 90° plus heat this season, last one back on Aug 18th. Normal is around 22 days... Highest 44 days in 2010.

    Not including this month yet but since last September, 5 months have had under 2" of rain here. 12 month precip totals getting down into the upper 20's inch range.
