  1. Drove around most of the county today and the best color happened to be right in town here. That is rather strange.
  2. ^ Challenging light condition yet executed extremely well. Shame about the power lines though.
  3. Got to try another sunset this evening. Max dynamics.... Fading color...
  4. A productive day behind the viewfinder, all day. Big equipment, big sky... Partial halo arc and a sundog... And now onto the sunset... Looking southeast at the yellows... Looking south at the deeper colors of sunset...
  5. Departing system timed out well for the sunset this evening. Looking south east when I got to the pond... The yellow flash... The orange flash... The red flash...
  6. Was not expecting this, this evening. The white, looking south west The orange looking south south west The red looking south...
  7. Some more October magic this evening here. A nice looking cloud to the south east when I got to the pond... Finally a two-sided Sun-dog event. Usually I only get one side so tonight was a bonus... Here the post sunset color is about to start... The orange flash... The extent of the red/orange flash...
  8. It is October so of course the sunset was great. Was lightly raining when I got out to the pond. So of course it was rainbow time... Once the rain ceased, the white clouds... The orange clouds post sunset... The early red... And ending the day with the late red...
  9. I do not know what causes it but October sunsets always seem rather amped up. Maybe it is just that I know the solid stratus of winter is soon around the corner. But until then I am going to enjoy these like I did this evening. Looking east when I got to the pond... The yellows of the pre-sunset... The oranges of post sunset... And last but even more vivid, the reds...
  10. The color was playing hide-n-seek behind the clouds this evening...
  11. Not a lot of clouds out and about this evening. A cloud shadow with the 100mm... Same clouds shadow just a tick later and after a lens change to the 35mm... Later I got that horrible bruise color again...
  12. This evening I got engrossed in a book at dinner. Did not think there would be any sunset possibilities. Well when I left the diner the sky was doing a nice visual yellow flash. By the time I made it home to grab the camera and car and get to the closest open western horizon only the last dregs of color was left. This is the best I could do...
  13. Pre-sunset this evening... Early post sunset... Later post sunset...
  14. When I got to the pond this evening... A close-up with the 100mm of the gold color... Back to the 16-35 to see just how much the clouds are getting ripped apart by the breeze... What little red flash that there was this evening...
  15. Looking south when I got to the pond this evening... The yellow looking west... I made a mistake this evening though. I thought the color was done and over with and started driving back home. By the time I got halfway home the sky to the north was going red, rather nicely. So I was only to catch the red slightly past peak from the front yard instead...
  16. While last night was the race of clouds departing the area and the sunset, this evening was the race of clouds returning to the area and the sunset. Started with the yellow... On to the early orange... This is the kitchen sink of colors. A little bit of everything... And ending the night with the red...
  17. Last night was another colorful evening. Local sunset Post sunset looking south east Looking north east A vertical selection And last but not least, the red...
  18. Hit 92 at KIND today. The amazing thing is that there was a slight but persistent north west flow all day. With breeze from that direction I always expect cool to cold temps. Not today!
  19. I missed a day here. Life gets in the way sometimes. All of these are from 9-16. Was a busy day behind the viewfinder. Morning, noon and evening. Started off the morning with sun dogs/iridescence... Some of the sun dogs were rather vivid... At noon the lower levels started moistening up... The evening started off with a rather vivid sun dog also... Post sunset we started the color game. The yellow... The orange... And the red... For a long time I have tried to get a late, late post sunset with backscatter light with some high altitude still sort of in white. I came kind of close last evening. Was worth all the mosquito bites...
  20. Meanwhile, the pingers are getting closer and closer to weatherbo and Will.
  21. I most be living right. I was on the edge of the clouds pushing east. I was also on the edge of the clouds pushing in from the south. All that gave me an excellent sunset. The white when I got to the pond... The orange... And the red...
