Even if the map is right, only 22 feet more to go! -
Was 68 at KIND. A great February night to be out for the sunset. The white of the pre-sunset. Taken with the 24-70mm at 35mm... The beginning of the oranges and reds. Taken with the 24-70mm at 50mm... The end of the reds. Taken with the 24-70mm at 70mm... Cheers!

It felt great.

^ Glad I am not driving i-90 tomorrow and Tuesday.

Heard and saw some sandhill cranes honking their way back north while I was raking up sweet gum star pods in the backyard.

^ sidewalk and street look really wet. Heavy wet snow?

Why the negative vibes in the tag for this thread? Now in the body of the thread, knock yourself out and be as negative as you like. But to get all sides of every coin to add to the discussion, I think Keeping the thread title bare would be better for adding all posters.

Wow is right, a bunch of vampires on this site.

Nevermind, I just looked it up. Chicago wins hands down. Chicago had 68 and change while Caribou only had 36.

In '67 I was living in Caribou, Maine. Wonder who had more snow that year?

Was able to make it out to the overpass this evening for the sunset. It was not life-threatening cold anymore but I still got frozen toes and fingers simply for being out there for over an hour at a stretch. Some nice alto-cumulus pre-sunset. Taken with the 24-70mm at 28mm... Close to actual sunset there was some, just a tiny bit of wildfire colors on the horizon. Taken with the 100mm and cropped in camera...

lol, should I start a thread for when the last of the snow leaves my backyard?
-
Just in case this is the last one. A nice post-sunset this evening. What it looked like pre-sunset. Taken with the 24-70mm at 24mm... Post sunset reds. Taken with the 24-70mm at 57mm... Cheers!

Were all these clouds forecast?

Could you imagine being an alligator and going, "What is this sh*t?".

Coldest air of the season probably starting tonight. Celebrated by taking a few sunset pics. About lost a little skin on the fingers getting these, but hey, the things we do for our hobbies. The yellows. Taken with the 24-70mm at 70mm... The orange. Taken with the 24-70mm at 57mm... What little reds there were. also shows the snow showers in the area at the same time. Taken with the 24-70mm at 45mm...

^ impressive that there is a 36 to 40 degree difference between Minneapolis and Indianapolis. Rooting here for the cloud cover to stick around and keep our temps up.

Once again. location, location and location. Yes it rained here for a bit overnight but it did switch over to snow early morning and made a slick commute. I was worried about a flash freeze after this slush-fest but with ORD -LAF- IND tabs open, I only see a slow downturn of temps and dews. Thank goodness.
-
Ouch. Gale warnings with extreme temps. That is adding insult to injury.
