At 615 PM EST, numerous snow showers, some moderate-to-heavy, continue in much of the region east of the Blue Ridge Mountains to the Chesapeake Bay, including the greater Baltimore and Washington Metropolitan Areas. Visibilities in some of these snow showers are less than a quarter of a mile, with road conditions quickly deteriorating now that it is after sunset. A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until Midnight, with an additional 1 to 3 inches of snowfall expected before tapering off to flurries around midnight. Temperatures will drop into the lower 20s overnight, so significant refreezing is likely. Icy roads are possible as the snow melts on the roads then quickly refreezes. Conditions can deteriorate rapidly in winter weather situations. Be prepared for snow or ice covered roads. Slow down and allow extra time when traveling.
