    Honestly I think its the shear amount of energy flying around in the atmosphere. Don't get me wrong that low is going to try and drive into WNC, but the air up here is going to be colddd. I just think we have an anomaly on our hands here and the short range models are struggling to decide where that low redevelops off the coast.

    Lol at the short range models. Don't think I have ever seen a low take that track with such a strong high in place. This should correct.

    Living in that HRRR snow hole got me like . I should be able to give us a good read on how accurate those snow holes actually are.

    I was looking at this and I was like, this dude owns a plumbing supply spot and sure enough! Love it man I hear business is good up in that area! Just like it is everywhere else in WNC.

    Yeah it has mixing issues and also don't account for the backside that is about to come through. I would expect that to correct over the next 24 hours.

    The warm nose the NAM shows over WNC is meager. Heavy rates are going to overcome that. There would be so much forcing in the atmosphere in the way of negative omega that I can't see that precipitation falling as freezing rain.

    Low track is what we need to be focusing on with NAM.

    12z NAM is about to hammer WNC. Keeping that surface low close to the Gulf.

    6z Euro dropping the hammer at 8pm Sunday night with the deformation feature moving in. Already 12" of snow for most and it still going to hammer for 6 more hours.

    If everything goes correctly over the next two days I should add a downtown Hendersonville and a downtown Bryson City live camera before the storm hits. Prayers to my It guy.

    I mean honestly for me personally its perfect. 3 weeks of tracking snow, then I am off in the beginning of February to get married in Hawaii!

    Just came here to post and say that Thursday night looks good for the border counties, but Met is all over it! Also at 0z & 6z suites.

    Looks good this weekend. Best setup we have seen all year for sure, but that’s not saying much.

    12z Euro showing a 2"-4" event for SW SWNC. 1"-3" event around Buncombe county. Smaller warm nose with this run at the onset of precipitation.

    Very interested in Thursdays event. Lets see if it keeps digging. Areas in SW WNC do good with these that don't have such a robust warm nose.

    Sleet pretty much already covering my deck here in Alexander. A little snow mixing as well.

    This is a situation where its all about the handling at 500mb. Every time the ULL cuts off over TN/GA WNC gets hammered. Thats because the system is able to rotate in some Gulf moisture. Ill be watching on the GFS to see if and when the 500 mb ULL cuts off.

    Nightmare forecast scenario here... Lets see what the 12z Euro shows.

    Yeah misses the phase in the Gulf. Timing is going to be key with this one. If we have a big swath of snowfall develop over AR Sunday AM it is game on.

    Major differences regarding amplification between 00z & 6z. 6z euro very stout. .
