  1. I think the upper limit on what I could grade this winter would be a C- and that assumes a 30” HECS in March with 5” per hour rates.
  2. I agree this is probably all subjective. Climo IMBY in April is 60’s and the period from April to early June is our best shot at what I consider “nice” weather, so I don’t like it when we lose part of that to 40’s and lingering cold (I’d be especially pissed if it happened after this awful winter too). Admittedly I’m not a cold lover so yeah, I consider 40’s cold... I don’t ski, but I can’t imagine myself skiing in -10 temperatures.
  3. This is February 1998 all over again.
  4. You should make it top seven at BWI so once this winter is done we can have 97/98 and 16/17 still on the list. Five of the top seven in the last 22 years lol
  5. Historically it usually takes one rebuilding season to get out of dumpster fires like this one (the exception to this was 01/02 though).
  6. I watched Season 1 of True Detective- for you tropical weenies, I counted at least three different hurricanes mentioned (Andrew, Rita and Katrina).
  7. NWS still has no chance of rain today and becoming mostly sunny- but it’s raining here currently.
  8. I've been out on February for a long time. In most of the fall seasons that I found similar to 2019, the pattern generally persisted until March and then flipped. March has a chance but like I said last fall, I wouldn't be hanging my weenie hat on a one-in-a-million HECS save like 1942. Some paltry snow event that melts in an hour is more likely. I wanted to be reaped early on because getting some event in March isn't enough to save it for me (but might be enough to have me win the snowfall contest lol). After I made that post in October, I became even more concerned with how dry November was- having precip less than 2" at BWI and DCA is one of the best leading indicators of an impending dumpster fire.
  9. I will post this video in lieu of a Halftime Report, as it provides a better recap of the season so far: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QcI_l_biVOg Reminder: "analysis" comes from the word "anal" plus "-ysis", which is Latin for "to pull things from":
  10. This is anecdotal, but I feel like we've lost all the minor 2-4" events I grew up with as a kid in the 80's and 90's. It's either WSW events or nothing. But I'm like you, hunting for the big storms.
  11. I used this: https://www.weather.gov/media/lwx/climate/bwisnow.pdf And the monthly reports here: https://w2.weather.gov/climate/index.php?wfo=lwx And they both totaled 3.0; however, LWX has never updated their top five least snowiest winters chart and I don’t know why.
  12. BWI only had 3.0” in 2016/17, which would place it #4 on that list.
  13. If someone had called for a complete shutout, they would actually still be in second place, just 2.2 behind Prestige Worldwide.
  14. Update: BWI: 1.8" DCA: 0.6" IAD: 2.9" RIC: 1.0" @Prestige Worldwide still way out in front.
  15. I thought we had a coastal that looked like this in late January 2017 with a very similar setup that did indeed end up being all rain. I may have the year wrong though.
  16. I have no problem with climo storms. But it’s hilarious how some people love to talk down to us, but then in the rare instance when we’re the bull’s eye, they have a mental breakdown posting how IT’S NOT FAIR!! I remember 1/17 and 1/18.
  17. I can fix your RIC number, but it's gonna cost ya... bring your suitcase full of cash. I'll let you know the drop-off spot. No fixes for @showmethesnow though- he never pays up. I'm thinking the contest halftime report this year is... not going to be very complex, let's put it that way.
  18. We'll see if LWX revises anything, but this is what I have for the seasonal totals as of right now: BWI: 1.8" DCA: 0.4" IAD: 2.6" RIC: 1.0" @Prestige Worldwide still has a commanding lead.
  19. This is way too high- I regret adding about 1-2” across the board. Should’ve stuck with my original forecast.
  20. Updated season totals: BWI: 0.3" DCA: 0.4" IAD: 0.6" RIC: 1.0" @Prestige Worldwide remains in the lead.
  21. @RodneyS has had two consecutive top five finishes... it's only a matter of time until he wins someday too.
