  1. Central MD is always the bull’s eye so we’ll be driving up there to see. Seems like from what I’ve heard there aren’t as many down here.
  2. However many we see, I'm sure the Euro will overestimate the density until about 12 hours out.
  3. One of my earliest preschool memories in 1987- I was only four years old. 2004 I was a senior at UMBC and they were everywhere on campus. My grandmother's house in Glen Burnie had probably the densest cicada coverage I had seen. My oldest son doesn't believe me about how loud and dense it can be. He's about to find out. I wonder if the blue eyed cicada myth will circulate again this time too.
  4. BWI added 0.2" DCA added 0.1" IAD lost 0.2" It's a very close contest.
  5. LWX made small adjustments to BWI, DCA and IAD in the latest CLI report:
  6. @olafminesaw is gonna thread the needle on this, I can see it.
  7. If we could just get one good, clean WSW event I would call this an acceptable winter.
  8. One more photo from the ice storm last week- this was a branch of my Granny Smith tree. I also added this one as my profile banner picture.
  9. From the Thurs-Fri ice storm (2 of 2)
  10. From the Thurs-Fri ice storm (1 of 2)
  11. I was talking with someone much older than me who's lived in Calvert County a long time, and she said there was a really bad ice storm in 2001 for Southern MD. Anyone who lived here at the time know if this is true? I'm not sure if she has the right year, but she said she's NOT confusing it with the 1994 one. I was living in Glen Burnie at the time and that winter was a dud up there. (tagging @Wxdavis5784 since I think you were living around here at the time?)
  12. Southern Calvert and St. Mary’s seemed to get a lot more ice than central Calvert. Driving down 2-4 to California early this morning looked like a forest of glass. Lots of downed tree branches- I can see why there were power outages.
  13. Well that could be tough, considering you're not even a contestant, but I'll see what I can do.
  14. Btw if anyone has any suggestions to further improve the layout of the spreadsheet, feel free to let me know and I’ll see what I can do.
  15. A good monthly summary written at the time can be found here- select "Maryland" and scroll down to "1899-02" https://www.ncdc.noaa.gov/IPS/cd/cd.html
  16. Power outages look bad in St. Mary's. It's flickered here a few times but I've never fully lost power.
  17. It was also in the single digits during the storm and snow-on-snow. I have most of the data compiled for February 1899 and it is pure weenie porn.
  18. I had never heard of this until now so I looked it up. Interesting... (Doesn't seem like there's a lot of actual evidence though)
  19. You all seem to be ignoring @olafminesaw creeping up Eta: wait... I’m not even sure he can still win? @RodneyS can I get a ruling on this?
  20. You lost the same way I did in 17/18 - I would've won that year had it been just BWI, DCA and IAD, but I went way too low for RIC. I learned my lesson after that: RIC > DCA in this new climate.
  21. @Lowershoresadness I was actually going to post that in here earlier just to troll. Measured 0.8" of sleet today, for anyone who cares.
