  1. Someone can correct me if this is wrong but I think they post a warning if any spot in a county has the potential- so like if most of AA county is expected to be 2-4”, but a few areas could jackpot to 5” under a band, they go with the warning instead of the advisory.
  2. Surprised LWX went to WS Watch cause my point and click is only for 2-4” now. I skimmed the GFS and Euro and it didn’t seem like a WSW event (but maybe I’m wrong).
  3. I haven’t followed models at all- how we looking down here? I see NWS calling for 1-2” in my point and click.
  4. Yeah it’s 55 here in Prince Frederick and you can feel the sun getting stronger every day now.
  5. These are the updated numbers: BWI: 6.1" DCA: 3.5" IAD: 8.3" 5-year futility is still on the table at BWI, IAD and DCA
  6. You're in a good spot- close to Olaf, and we know it's always a good thing to be close to Olaf
  7. @RodneyS you’re right, MillvilleWx is out for good. I gave that little quip without actually looking closely.
  8. Update: BWI: 6.1" DCA: 3.5" IAD: 8.3" RIC: 4.3" @Clueless still leads. @MillvilleWx is now stuck rooting for a suppressed storm for RIC @Rhino16 somehow has to get an event that jackpots... DCA
  9. @Lowershoresadness can you reel me in that system for next weekend? Thx in advance
  10. That map is missing a lot of spotter reports from Calvert and St. Mary’s on Sunday (including mine). Since most of us got very little yesterday and today, we didn’t bother sending in updates. It looks like they didn’t use any of the Sunday reports and just pulled the few Cocarahs obs from the PNS report this morning instead. Most of those were too low (especially for St Mary’s).
  11. That’s awesome- what’s your total since Sunday? Have you kept track?
  12. So, to recap: 1/31: 2.4" 2/1: 0.2" 2/2: 0.1" Snowing again but it's too warm to stick.
  13. Ummm... I'll even throw in yesterday's and today's totals and that still only gives you 2.8" here.
  14. I don't disagree with any of this. Anyone new who joins a storm thread with an IMBY question or doesn't respect the rules should be dealt with, but I see lots of people asking very good questions (things I'd like to know myself!) and just get ignored or condescended to. This place isn't going to grow and evolve as long it's the same 50 people patting each other on the back about how they've been posting about weather since 1995 on Eastern or Wright Weather (or whatever it's called). But that's more of a general critique. FWIW, I've never had an issue with any of your posts- you seem to be one of the more helpful people, especially during the summer.
  15. It's kinda shocking the amount of bad behavior that's tolerated here by certain posters. I see new people all the time making posts apologizing in advance for asking a question and hoping they don't get torn apart (at best they get ignored, at worst they get snarked at). Many new posters just get run off, and even older ones are tired of it. I post on an unrelated forum much larger than this one (occasionally helping with moderation) and I can tell you that many people given free reign here would be banned in an instant, without question.
  16. New totals- BWI revised down, IAD and DCA revised up: BWI: 6.0" DCA: 2.8" IAD: 8.1" RIC: 4.2" Our new leader is @Clueless Grayed out members have been mathematically eliminated.
  17. FWIW, LWX is calling for up to 0.5” overnight and up to 1” tomorrow IMBY in my point-and-click. I have no idea if that’s in line with models because I’m taking the Bob Chill approach and stopped giving a sh*t. I’ll enjoy whatever I get.
  18. Another 0.2” of sleet and snow on the board today, so storm total is now 2.6”. Light snow still falling here. My goal is 3”
  19. Updated from CLI reports today: BWI: 6.3" DCA: 2.6" IAD: 6.3" RIC: 4.2" @NoVaWx still has the lead.
  20. Took this shot of a bird perched on my deck as the snow began early yesterday morning:
  21. You also have to count the leader’s numbers getting worse too by the same amount, so it can get tricky, but yeah, it looks like they’re eliminated.
  22. Updated: BWI: 5.9" DCA: 2.6" IAD: 5.6" RIC: 4.2" @NoVaWx maintains the lead. I believe @RickinBaltimore and @biodhokie have also been mathematically eliminated now, but I'm not 100% sure on that.
