  1. It'll be interesting to see how much ours melts. We've still got over 18" of snow in parts of the yard and the snow-bergs on my street are upwards of 4' high in places. On the plus side, maybe it'll help with the huge-mongous ice dam situation I've got going on. The front of my house only gets maybe a few hours of afternoon sun.
  2. I think it sleeted for a few minutes but now appears to be clearing up. Measured just over 4.5" on the front porch.
  3. Snow just switched to being very sparse with tiny flakes.
  4. Kinda doubt it; just from experience, we hardly ever get the back end, wrap-around precip to hold together on these types of events. But I'm no expert.
  5. I think this will put me over 45" for the winter, with 38" of that in February alone. Couldn't have asked for a better, snowy winter especially after last year.
  6. Very nearly 4.5" on my front porch. Temp up to 31.2°F and moderate snow. small to medium-sized flakes.
  7. Back edge of the precip shield is already approaching Harrisburg. Might get another two hours out of this at the most where I'm at. Nice little event, this.
  8. Whoah. Now at 3.5" on the front porch. Must have been snowing at ~2"/hr rates for the past half hour or so! 30.2°F and visibility around 2/10 of a mile if I had to guess. It's been really small flakes most of the morning but now some bigger ones are starting to mix in. Already hearing one snowblower going.
  9. 30.3°F and heavy snow. Measured about 2.25" on the front porch.
  10. Dang. Now that the driveway is coated, I'm hoping for another couple of inches to justify wheeling out the snowblower one more time. I'd much prefer using that than shoveling.
  11. 30.5°F now and blacktop starting to whiten with moderate to heavy fine snow.
  12. Ok now down to 31.6°F with the sidewalk juuust starting to turn white. Snowing moderately now. Loving this winter.
  13. 32.3°F and light, fine snow in Reading. Temp has lowly risen from 30 at 6 am, hoping it gets back under freezing soon. Nothing sticking to roads/sidewalk yet.
  14. Light snow and 28.2° F. A nice coating of fluff. Debating shoveling the driveway and front walk. Ran out of rock salt last night though so I need to get to the hardware store at some point today. The blacktop on my street is covered though so maybe I'll wait a little while longer.
  15. I guess I'm struggling to see how "the coastal" is going to bring much more precipitation to our region. Is the predicted precip tonight going to be from that? To my untrained eye it looks like the center of low pressure will be far offshore by then as opposed to the last storm where it was much deeper and hugged the shore quite a bit longer.
  16. HRRR says more development later in the day though. Maybe some snow TV to close out the day?
  17. Yeah this thing looks like it's moving out. Not bad though, roughly 5" on the driveway. Started to pelt me with sleet and graupel while I was snowblowing but now it's not doing anything. Really pretty out though.
  18. Lol dunno, just moved here and really enjoying it so far. Snow on snow on snow on snow I think we're up to. Can't remember the last time that's happened. Also I think I might have just heard some light pings on the window...
  19. Looks like a momentary lull. Some juicy returns coming in just to our west.
  20. Checking in from Reading with about 3" of fresh stuff on the deck. What's falling now looks almost graupel-ish; just small, nuggetty "flakes". Falling pretty moderately as well. 22.8°F.
  21. Is it me or is the actual precip running 4-5 hours ahead of the NAM 0Z? Looking at Nexrad it appears that precip has already spread across central PA (most likely virga I'm guessing) whereas the NAM shows the precip just crossing into western PA around 11PM... Maybe I'm just looking at it wrong though.
  22. Oh I bet. Yeah we actually have one that was my Dad's when he was a kid. It's no longer in service, but I seem to remember being dragged around on it in the late 70's or early 80's when I was very little. Saucers are also fun on iced-over snow. Much less control, but that's kinda the point I think.
  23. Looking forward to seeing if we get a frozen crust tonight. One of my favorite memories as a kid was being able to walk on top of the snowpack at some point. Only happens very rarely, especially more so the older (and fatter!) I get.
