Haven't seen this reported yet because it's just outside of Mt. Holly's coverage. That black line is the PA/MD border just to the west of DE; I grew up just north of there.

Caught a 42mph gust about an hour ago, easily the fasted I've recorded here in a little over two years of logging data. Wow!

We had ice-cube sized hail (and a small tornado I think touched down) near Oxford, PA in 2009. The hail very nearly totaled my wife's car. We were able to park in a grocery store lot and run to shelter right before it started getting serious. I am morbidly looking forward to the damage reports tomorrow.

In all my years of being a weather enthusiast, this ranks up there as one of the most intense systems to track. Thankfully my family is particularly weather-aware these days, but still. Seeing that couplet pass within a mile or two of my parent's farm really got me. I was texting my mom the whole time, she said the sky actually turned a sort of yellow.

This formed and headed east right south of where my parents live:

Got real dark, rumbled a little bit, rained a hundredth of an inch, and left. Sky is getting lighter here. Stay safe everyone downstream!

Clouds are beginning to take over. We hit 75°F on the dot, now down to 74.3. It's actually pretty dry out there, DP is only 40. Recorded a 23mph wind gust a little while ago though.

As per the most recent forecast discussion, a 68mph gust was reported at Allegheny Airport new Pittsburg. Whoah. Just now starting to see clouds creeping over my western horizon.

Full sun here, too. Kinda nice out actually. Pressure is dropping though...

Picked up .06" overnight and then it dumped about 1/4" on us a little while ago. Sun popped out for about 30 seconds and it started to feel steamy outside. Gonna need to keep an eye on potential development this afternoon--it feels like our region might be under the gun later today, especially after watching all of those storms form over the Midwest yesterday. This could be headed our way:

My wife's been on a tear to begin all of the out-door spring lawn and garden stuff. I keep reminding her that it's still very much winter and that the greenhouses near us aren't even open yet. But yeah, anything we get from here on out will be a surprise. Hard to reconcile with two winters ago when we had snow cover in the back yard the entire month of Feb. At least it was properly cold today with occasional flurries. Currently 32°F IMBY.

Nearly got caught working outside when that squall line came through. Looked at the sky and thought "Oh, that can't be good" and then checked the radar. Sure enough, we were gonna get bombed. Hastily secured the worksite and beat feet indoors right as the rain started. Made for an exciting afternoon, for sure! In other news, drove through some falling sleet near Morgantown about an hour ago.

I find it a little funny that we get included in the Delaware Bay warnings way up here in Reading. I mean, I guess I won't be taking my kayak out on the Skook today, thanks for the warning!

Wowza! Highest recorded wind gust at my house since I started logging just over two years ago: Today was wild--sampling soil down in SNJ. Thankfully I had a shipping container to hide behind for most of the day at least. My drillers weren't so lucky, but I made sure they were able to take plenty of breaks from the wind. I'm so done with being outside for the next few days though.

We got two inches of sloppy, wet snow last Wednesday that melted pretty fast, though that didn't stop all of my retired neighbors firing up their massive snowblowers. I was away on travel, but my wife finally got to try our new electric one (just for fun) and she said it worked great.
