  1. Sounds like SC is pretty terrible.
  2. Yeah it is asinine, not only airport employees but TSA as well just not wearing them right or sometimes not even having them on.
  3. Thank you, there is far too many not wearing them or wearing them wrong that it just throws off any chance of them being as effective as they should be. Hell I see people at work not wearing them, in a god damn airport. I mean that is just incredibly risky.
  4. What exactly is still closed though? Even movie theaters, bowling alleys, and gyms have opened up much to the detriment they will cause.
  5. Schools been open since mid to late August, it wasn't until the last 10 days that things are skyrocketing. I'd say schools contributed to not allowing things to go down but more shit opening was a much bigger contribution.
  6. You are missing a few 1998 had a huge storm, and though in October you have to consider the Octobomb, both of which were La Nina.
  7. Probably a combo there but definitely a contribution comes from the reopening.
  8. It was idiotic to open everything up no restriction, this is just proving how idiotic it is.
  9. It isn't remotely weird, the governors are doing shit to keep people alive, the congress namely the Senate isn't. People like living as safely as possible.
  10. That is why the country as a whole votes liberally and has more times than not since 2000. There are political reasons why the right has power but by all means it isn't because of the country's love for a center-right weak central government which the votes prove the exact opposite. Also I find it ironic that you have a complaint of Whitmer doing too much as an outsider when this state she has 60% approval rating of how she has handled the pandemic.
  11. I feel like your anecdote is incredibly pointless.
  12. Canada is closed for non essential... man you are something else
  13. I mean they could have called it a hoopla.
  14. Ironic because you keep driving it toward political points when this has been pretty much apolitical.
  15. All I hear is money, I'm sorry but money doesn't matter if you are sick or dead. Furthermore most things are open, no not everything before someone nitpicks, but most things are so that economic damage has been recovered while most people wear masks, but if all don't then we are wasting our time and potentially risking millions.
  16. You mean that setup done by the salon owner that immediately cried poverty when she got backlash for her setup. Yeah that wasn't on the up and up, but sure if you want to count that one instance, I will point to the mountain of evidence on the other side. This is the proof I am talking about you guys get fixated on one thing just like saying Fauci said masks weren't necessary 6 months ago, that has changed since then but you guys refuse to give up something 6 months old.
  17. Even if that is the case, mask wearing is more preventative than anything right now for the general public. It is very obvious which side of the fence those who deny masks or both sides the discussion. Do you see anyone against wearing masks from the left?
  18. The lack of contact tracing is grossly negligent, not everyone in the White House is a politician. You have general public workers in there as well and they are potentially being endangered because the right still doesn't believe this to be serious as they all get sick in the process. I'm sorry to make this political but it is seriously negligence what they are currently doing right now within the Trump Administration. As for pandemic fatigue, imagine being someone who has been doing the right thing for 6 months now, and hearing that someone can't do the right thing for a couple weeks. That is just wholly ridiculous. People want everything open but won't do any of the precautions and then complain when nothing ends up being open. Its a vicious circle of ignorance.
  19. The messaging gets muddled because people hear what they want and only get attached to that regardless of facts and science. Which is why this below is true... You have a President who is literally contagious taking his mask off after getting off of Marine One. You are never going to get people to believe masks are important when you have that shit happening.
  20. He is back at the White House and while standing on the Truman Balcony took his mask off, this is a man knowingly contagious with a dangerous virus and he just doesn't give a ****. I'm sorry if this upsets people but this is absolutely ridiculous, he was literally rushed to a hospital 3 days ago.
  21. It is far worse, "don't be afraid of covid, don't let it dominate your life"? those are some incredibly dangerous and ignorant words from a guy who spend 3 days in a hospital with many doctors overlooking him.
  22. We are at 210k adding roughly 500-750 deaths a day currently with cases starting to spike up so lets say by mid November we are around 1000 deaths daily again. Thats 45k deaths til end of year from mid November plus whatever happens in the next 40 days, at least 20k. That takes us to an estimated 275k deaths by then, 300k isn't that far fetched once you map it out.
  23. The risking of SS is just sad, these people would give their lives for the president and they are needlessly being endangered.
  24. What nastiness? and Hoosier has actually been pretty fair in that thread so saying he is biased is quite amusing. You can ask him yourself, but he knows I'm not his number 1 fan but in this case the job has been done fairly to keep most politics out of that thread. Lets be honest here though, no one is forcing people to read that thread. It is an important piece of history ongoing right now as well and unlike other subforums that thread has been kept civilized for the most part.
