  1. Right down the lines politically, right as things are spiking up too. Not to be political but they have no shame of stripping powers from her knowing what the state congress wants to do, which is turn this state into Florida in terms of openness. It is asinine and dangerous, it also flies in the face of the opinion of those in this state as 57% of the people in this state approve of the job Whitmer has done. Who are these people representing, it certainly isn't the people of this state.
  2. At what point is it gross negligence I'd hate to say they deserve it but in light of all the people who are sick and they still come back with this, it is hard not to think they deserve it when they are this ignorant.
  3. Yeah you are thinking the reverse of me of how he got it, but can you imagine how much it has spread?
  4. Knowing that Hicks was sick for over a day and all of them still went on like nothing was happening. This is how you create a superspreader event.
  5. The difference being those are viruses we have known treatments and in some cases vaccines for. That matters wholly to this discussion.
  6. Moderate Ninas can be very fun. The last few have been plentiful for the region outside of the Ohio Valley, even then 08 worked out for them in a few cases.
  7. https://news.yahoo.com/covid-19-cases-rising-among-184012739.html COVID-19 cases rising among US children as schools reopen After preying heavily on the elderly in the spring, the coronavirus is increasingly infecting American children and teens in a trend authorities say appears fueled by school reopenings and the resumption of sports, playdates and other activities. Children of all ages now make up 10% of all U.S cases, up from 2% in April, the American Academy of Pediatrics reported Tuesday. And the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said Monday that the incidence of COVID-19 in school-age children began rising in early September as many youngsters returned to their classrooms.
  8. So sorry to hear that, hopefully she pulls through. I was quite surprised how busy the UP was overall when I was up there. Great news for up there.
  9. Cool lets do number of infected now. No one wants to get this and you are talking deaths, how many had to be hospitalized or how many have had some permanent damage? It is really really simple just to look at deaths and say no big deal, which 200k deaths is a big deal btw, than it is to look at number of cases and number of hospitalizations which are much much higher. Judging by your sourcing though above, I can guess that you think this is a nothing virus, no big deal.
  10. Where at? I heard it was getting an upgrade, what site CoD doesn't go out that far.
  11. Yeah it is more rural here especially as you go south or west, even northwest.
  12. There is no reason why they should be open now if they weren't in July. It is just political posturing at this point.
  13. If we are around 750 a day from here on it will be 75k added, that being said we are going into cold/flu season so maybe the modeling is factoring in a spike. It isn't completely out of the realm especially if schools remain open and in person.
  14. This is that cross point like early in the summer where numbers went down so people wanted everything opened and then numbers skyrocketed back up when some things opened up. Caution still needs to be used, while slowly opening the remaining things up.
  15. Almost as if we saw this coming but still stood on the traintracks
  16. I am very pleasantly surprised about the mask usage in the UP. I would put it at 99% indoors and about 75% outdoors. And those who aren't wearing outside are definitely social distancing. Also nearly everything here is open except those places that have closed for the season.
  17. East based -NAO are good for the Great Lakes. West based can be good if it is weak, if it is stronger than -1 that favors the east coast more.
  18. At Lake of The Clouds looking down the valley this afternoon. It was very thick then.
  19. It is incredible up here in the UP. It is so thick that the entire sky was milky white and the sun was very filtered.
  20. Yeah center that west about 300-500 miles and then we are talking
  21. Yep which is just proving that we can't become complacent especially going into winter.
  22. I saw the 86mph fastball right down the middle, had to hit that grand slam. And sure they can get stuff but the more moderate the nina gets the less chances they have.
  23. That was a second year Nina, a bit different.
