A bit of shear but that band is trying. Look at those brights. I’m thinking metro BUF does well. Someone’s getting shafted in the transition. I’m guessing south towns.
-
Buckle up BUF. Pretty great set up. Parameters are real nice. Thunder stuff.
Only limiting factor is the transient nature of the band. I’ll be watching from Roc where we will see less than an inch.
-
BUF’s turn may finally be up. A quick hitter but everything seems to be lining up nicely. I’m sure the NWS office guys are going ape sh..

And by everyone, I mean the folks on twitter and other boards- present company excluded, of course.

Everyone excited for El Niño, I don’t know why, they can be devastatingly bad for NE snow lovers. Hopefully we get that promised pattern shift come late December.
You might be looking at that gorgeous avatar for quite some time. Lol

That's all you do anyway, so that's NOT considered a change. Get rid of that Horrific Avatar for the second time, as we already got a storm, so get rid of it, damn, lol!!

Did you guys see the tornadic outbreak in Illinois yesterday? Snow on the ground and EF2/3 tornados spawning all over the place. Incredible stuff.
And the guy holding up the Mallards in the foreground with tornado in background. It’s a good time to be alive!

Game changer for Wayne County. It’s amazing to me, this area is one of the only, non topo, holes in all of the US. Can’t wait to track those skinny bands that hammer N Rose and Hannibal. I used to drive from ROC to Oswego on 104 and Hannibal always had the most snow. Same band that gets Fulton (I think).
Spent 2 years in SUNY Oswego- they need the stars to align just right to get hit- but when it does.... I only saw it once.

BTW, this is a new Doppler radar out of ROC. It should fill up the hole that exists in Wayne, N Cayuga, SYR and even NE Monroe (when snow is dry):

I’m not great at this, but I think having the 540 all the way down to VA is a good thing

Next Weds still the time frame to watch for a big one. Tentative at best.

We’ve had a nice burst of snow the last hour or so, flakes seem much “fluffier”..
To bad the radar is not working as usual, probably wouldn’t show much anyway lol
WTF! Montague goesdown like clockwork every event. Some of the duct tape or super glue must’ve gotten wet again.

Nice band in Rochester now. Tonite we mage get as much snow as we did last night. Dave How s it looking in your back yard?
Decent snowfall. It’s not sticking on anything but where snow already is. I guess pretty inneffecient at 35- go figure.
Several meso models show .4-.5” qpf falling thru tonight. At 5:1 we’d pickup another 2”.
-
These meso models are getting scary good. At some point, they might take the fun out of it...?
-
Most of the hi res have a few more inches falling tonight in Monroe County. I’m not sold but they did great last night.
-
Nice little event. Great team effort. We out do ourselves every time!

Well, that snow map isn't accurate from Northern Monroe through Wayne as we easily have 4-5" within 3 miles of the lake shore.
Also interesting to note that WWAs weren't added to Niagara/Orleans until radar showed them getting hit. Wonder why KBUF didn't see that coming as the models were showing them getting in the action as well.
Yep. I’m measuring just about 5” in North Monroe. This was a good event for the Niagara escarpment- they don’t see a ton of snow.
-
It was a good setup. Being patient last evening and yesterday was tough. 5”+ in Irondequoit. 35. So accumulating was real tough. Still snowing hard at times.
-
Man, this ****er is really cranking over here in northern Monroe County. Everything’s gone hazy and the sky is yellow. Lovin’ it!!

I don’t know where they think ROC is getting 2” from? This should be the high end....
