  1. I’m in the northern tughill plateau. I saw the guy from Adirondack posting, which is a stone throw from here. So o figured I could post in here since lakes thread is non existent
  2. -31 this morning, lowest wind chill was -49. Had about 2’ of snow this week, snow depth of 16” right now. Season total so far 155”
  3. I'm just giving a reason as to why it may be showing it as rain. To elaborate on it, the airmass to me prior to the system is pretty crappy. Heck, january afternoon and it's above freezing all the way to the Canadian border. Aloft it's cold enough but due to a meh airmass, southerly flow at the surface it's just enough to be rain. I bet though, if precip rates were heavier it may be a different story.
  4. You have a high pressure sitting off the se coast bringing in southerly winds at the surface which is where you are getting the BL warmth for rain
  5. Sorry to hear that man. If I was in your shoes I would of done the same thing. Family> everything else. To answer your question, not married or anything so the move was easy, was just me.
  6. lol, I've felt your pain down their for a few decades. Reason why it prompted me to move among other reasons.
  7. had 38.9 from this event. Basically snowed for 96hrs straight. Brunt of it though was christmas into Boxing Day morning. Up to 117.2" on the year
  8. I thought the one in feb that dropped a foot here was a les event?
  9. Southerly winds off anywhere is going to torch most likely. Unless you live in the tug you’re getting that torch no matter what. Granted this spot is considered the tug, just not into the deep part of the tug
  10. There are literally 0 houses in that area. Plus you get a big snow there you may not get out to go to work or home from work lol. Lots of seasonal roads there. This spot is much better than lowville with about a 175” avg and over 1100’ in elev
  11. Yea, the true west flow I will miss but heck 150-175 avg I can’t complain
  12. Hey guys, so I am under contract for a house now. Assuming inspection goes well. The house is about 3.8 miles nw of Copenhagen, ny elev 1150’. Looks like on snow maps avg is 175”
  13. I know that area well in PA. It's known for these type of things because there is no radar coverage in that area so people don't have a clue as to what is coming
  14. No spring, yet Buffalo and all the other climo sites are well abv normal
  15. Is that close to where the college is? Looks like it’s hopping on a Sunday night
  16. Do you worry about mold and what not down there with the dampness? Or is it not really damp anymore
  17. I guess what I mean, while it probably snows a lot, it seems like its a lot of minor like 2-4 3-5 constant type events and chance of a big event like 12+ is tough to come by
  18. Why does that area south of cuse in the tully to cazenovia area always max out pretty will? Is it a bit of upslope, I mean they are decently removed from the lake and would need nw flow
  19. Interesting, the nws burlington 30 yr avg map shows the holland patent and remsen area averaging more than lowville.
