  1. New project. Taking an unused book shelf and going to Fallout 76 it. Husband works at Bethesda Game Studios and we have turned our downstairs into a game room. Already did a Nuka Cola coffee table.
  2. Natty Light was our go to choice for college house parties. A keg of that would sauce the best seasoned drinker and it was cheep! That along with Harry Buffalo, went across state lines to get the Everclear for it. The grapes we soaked were fire bombs!
  3. Pulled Pork Recipe Mac n' Cheese With the Mac n' cheese I actually use 14oz, of macaroni. When you only use 12oz. there is a lot of sauce so unless you truly like more of a saucy dish add the extra 2oz. of pasta.
  4. Pork turned out fantastic. Used Red Stripe this time. And the creamy Mac and cheese. Had the oldest daughter do the sauce. She needs to learn anyways.
  5. Closure of MD schools extended till May 15th.
  6. On another note. The MD State School Superintendent will be at the 2:30 press conference today. Got an email from FCPS about how grades will be handled for 4 term.
  7. Had a slight dilemma. Am making pulled pork and the recipe I use needs a lager beer. None in the house. Told my husband and he said sacrifices will have to be made and he will go out and get some. Was able to DM one of our local liquor stores on Instagram and place an order for curb side pick up. Awesome service and will use it again. Happy to report the shoulder/butt is in the oven. Cooking low and slow. And as he got a 12 pack he can enjoy one with the pulled pork sandwiches tonight.
  8. You look way better in a dress then me! You look fantastic!! My oldest daughter has a very diverse group of friends at school. While she is straight she loves to support her gay and trans friends. One of her friends is currently starting their transition. She and her other friends are there to support them. Her friends taught me. She is part of the Rainbow Alliance club at school. They have dubbed her the Honorary Gay. And yes I had to learn how to correctly use the they them pronouns. Minus the current situation they are over a lot and my husband and I want to make them feel comfortable in our home. It has become a safe space for all of them.
  9. Awesome!!! So happy for you!
  10. Cedar Point is the roller coaster capital of the world and anyone who says otherwise is just Wrong!! Will be remembering the things you said you taught your daughter as we are doing practice currently. We use the Frederick Keys back parking lot. Only two light poles in the middle and grass on all 4 sides. And yep donuts in a snowy parking lot... And she will be taught how to parallel park. Downtown Frederick has enough street parking that I feel it is necessary. Maneuverability testing in my opinion does not go far enough. She will learn stick also as my husband has a MX5.
  11. Yep the Gemini was the racing coaster. We would always hit that one just before the park closed. Because yep you could ride it and run down and get on it again. Got crazy at night too as they did not care if you stuck your hands out to high five the other trains passengers going up the first hill. My first coaster was the Corkscrew. Loved it! Cannot do them anymore. Went back one summer to take our girls and about lost my lunch on the Mantis
  12. @Zugzwang yes I was born in 1973 so was there for the Blizzard of 78. Fondest memory is our local IGA grocery store the owner got in and opened up. My mom and us kids took our sleads and walked up to the store, got some food and walked back. Also my older brothers jumped off the roof of the front porch into the drifts. My sister and I were able to walk over our neighbors fence because the drifts were so high. Fun times! Made snow tunnels, looking back at it we were pretty stupid as they could have collapsed while in there. After moving to MD and seeing just how bad people drive in the snow, my girls will be made to go out and drive in it. I remember we would get around in 4" with the cars and everyone was able to get where they needed to go. Snow just got packed down on the roads. Hated the slush though! And summers at Cedar Point!! Man miss those.
  13. I left in 97. Husband, who was boyfriend at the time, and had just taken a job here and asked me to move with him. Had graduated from BGSU and wanted something different so said yes. Still have one brother that lives in Toledo. Rest of the family is spread out down south.
  14. Maumee just South of Toledo. Flat flat flat. But black top soil in the fields 6’ deep! We just finished episode 5. It was a doozy. Actually taking a few days break as it has gotten really dark and not just bat shit crazy. Pace yourself.
  15. This reminds me of where I grew up in NW Ohio.
  16. Holy cow! Winds are insane behind that line. Had about 30 min of blue sky then clouds rolled in and stuff is blowing all over the place. Temp back up to 71 after going down to 68 when the storms came through.
  17. Nice cool off behind the storms. May salvage a nice day out of it.
  18. What just went through here was meh at best. Couple claps of thunder and put me over 1" for the day. Looks like the energy is on both ends not so much the middle. Bright blue skies behind.
  19. Line has just hit here. Wind driven rain and occasional thunder. Just had a nice crack scared the cat sitting next to the window.
  20. Clouded back up over here due to that straggling line coming into Brunswick ahead of the line out over 81.
  21. Listening to WYPR and they just broke in with an Emergency Management alert and playing the weather radio information.
  22. Just got back from Lovettesville. Pony had a vet appt this morning. Right at the end of the appt it started pouring. Drove home in a downpour most of the way. Now home and the sun is starting to break through. Temp is 66 and sitting at .98" so far for the day.
  23. Ok just heard from my sister. They were under the warning from the storm in SE Atlanta this morning. They live in Avondale Estates. She said the sirens went off at 2:50 am and they all got into their safe place. The storm weakened and the warning was allowed to drop at 3 am. We were actually supposed to be there this weekend visiting. But because of travel restrictions were not. I am just glad they are safe. Now just onto our dealing with this system.
  24. Thank you! Not sure why I was not finding Thank you! Not sure why I was not finding this. I did hear back from her finally via text to just say they are ok and will talk later. I imagine they were up very early this morning. They actually yesterday set up their basement so they could just sleep down there to be pro active.
  25. I am heading over to Lovettsville this morning. The vet is coming out for Spring shots and care visits. Appt is at 9:30. Looking at radar this line may have pushed through by then. But am I reading this correctly that the severe potential will be behind the line with developing storms?
