Yes you are correct it is healthy to release frustration. That was part of my problem. But if you continue to be in a serious depression even after releasing it there may be more to it.

Here is the thing. I just finished a 6 mo span of therapy, and not because of the lack of snow. I have anxiety, severe at sometimes it triggers panic attacks. What I learned in therapy is that I do not have control over certain things. And I should not hang my day to day life on thinking I do. I have learned that I am a lot better at re-directing and solving issues in my life than I had thought. @H2O is correct in maybe seeing someone. Just like those with SDD (Seasonal Depression Disorder) from lack of sun, you may be dealing with it from the aspect of the season not being what you think it should be. There is no shame in talking to someone who is impartial.

Perfect! I always used to be a snow lover. Grew up in NW Ohio. But as I have aged I enjoy the small events the bigger ones not so much. The thought of being in the house and then the shoveling.

As the mom of 16 and 13 year old daughters we have always had an open door policy in our house. I do not put up with drama and we have open lines of communication. I am sure we make other parents gasp as we use fowl language from time to time and let them learn from their mistakes. My girls were watching animals mating on Nature from a very early age so talking to them has been very easy. We did not watch the game or the halftime but I heard about it. Sounds like a clear case of double standard of how women present themselves vs. men. And quite frankly it is a crock of crap. The 16 year old has very strong feelings on the double standard of girls vs. boys when it comes to dress. She finds it laughable that shoulders are found to be sexy. My daughters will have to look for just that right partner later in life, because they will probably piss a lot of them off with their views.

Ok so here is some quality information to lighten everything up. Car conversation on the way home from riding. 13 yr old- mom did you know that if you find whale vomit on the beach it is worth a lot of money. Me- ...ah whale vomit? 13 yr old- yes. When a whale eats squid the barbs from the squid collect in its stomach. And it eventually passes through the anus... Me- so whale vomit is actually whale shit! 13 yr old- yea you could say that. 13 yr old- they crap it out and it gets rolled around in the sea for many years and gets hard. When it makes its way to a beach it weighs a ton. Me- 13 yr old- it is rare so it is worth a lot of money. Me- so we should look for whale shit? 13 yr old- they use it in perfume to make the scent last longer. Me- Me- so wearing perfume means you are wearing whale shit? 13 yr old- yes. Where does this kid get this from? And yes Josh actually looked this up and she is correct! It is called ambergris.

Big hair! The resurgence of Aqua Net. That stuff was .89 cents a can. I used to use it for a cheep version of fixative on my graphite and charcoal drawings in college. The Book store even started to stock it next to the $7 a can actual fixative.
