Regime change is hard....and sometimes it takes longer than expected. My uneducated guess is not that the "models are wrong" as some like to say as the excuse but that the models are struggling with any changes that may be occurring and are not necessarily spitting out the final solution. Meanwhile it may snow twice this week and it "MIGHT NOT" get as warm next week. My mantra...the pattern hasn't changed until it changes. I wish it would snow

I look at it this way...nobody has died so far and we are almost into February. I'm pretty sure we will all make it whether is snows or not. If it does....hey....milk and cookies and the shades open. If not....hey....milk and cookies anyway

But I thought our area is generally deep winter every year from December 1st through February 21st...with 20-30 events mostly 6" + or have I been dreaming for the last 52 years?

I made a post in Banter awhile back talking about how the GFS was showing 60's post 300 hours and that I was surprised Bristow wasn't complaining. That said if we do in fact get a few days of 60s next week then the GFS was hitting that hard long before other models...even though it did lose the idea for a minute it did bring it back.....GFS MJO forecast for the win!!!

So true...our winters are rarely if ever wall to wall cold and snowy. We have been and always will be a take what you can get region in winter
