  1. @Cashtown_Coop, must be sunny over your way? 83!
  2. Good gravy. A 5-6 degree drop. Nut is the hot spot now! :-). Welcome to the club. 78 here as well but no rain.
  3. Those wundermaps always back up your readings. You are just high compared to most readings at noon (Canderson does not count if he is in the concrete jungle). You have in county temps 5 degrees lower with no rain. As you can tell this strange heat phenomena is intriguing to me.
  4. One models depiction though heat does come back the next week. This does have some cloud and rain assistance.
  5. Finally got a screen to stay up for a moment by switching to a more powerful PC. Wundermap is becoming a pig of a web page.
  6. You are definitely running high today. Wundermap is being a pain and flashing temps on and off the screen but still some 70's in Lanco. Lot of 80 and 81's as well.
  7. 76 at noon here...mostly cloudy which is playing a big part in that. 80 probably still going to happen but not much over it from what it appears.
  8. Some people may stay in the 60's or close to it so borderline.
  9. Models offering some temp relief starting Thursday. Not going to fell like fall though as DP's stay in the 60's.
  10. Very breezy here as well. And DP's are in the upper 60's so not as bad as it could be. Not great though. Down to 74 now. Looks like S/E PA is the only area not fairly cloudy and/or hazy right now.
  11. It is completely cloudy/hazy here as well. Fairly dark actually.
  12. Member of Team Not so Hot checking in with 75 degrees at 9:55AM. Hot for Sept standards though.
  13. I think the issue is less about airport readings on any given day and more about record keeping. But I agree that a full representation of an area, maybe by average, is better than having the warmest or coldest (or close to it) place in the area be your representative.
  14. You get UHI and only have one stoplight! We got down to 62 here actually. Had a typo in my first post. Looks like your LNS station got to 68.
  15. At this point I have to ignore MDT's number a bit as I cannot control it. This morning was the first morning I had a low above normal this month (using MDT's though). But I agree MDT is going above normal in the next few days. GFS still insists on highs being at or below normal later this week...but not lows.
  16. Kind of takes the enjoyment out of tracking norms. They only show a -1.2 departure for the month at this point. Many other places around MDT would be in the -3 to -4 area. Of course maybe it would go both ways and the norms in the other places would be different as well so who knows.
  17. MDT was not that hot daytime yesterday coming in with an 85. It's their night time lows that seem weird. They were 4-8 degrees higher than most of their surrounding ob's at 8PM last night.
  18. The Florida of PA. LOL. But only at night. They did manage to struggle down to 69 but I foresee a 70+ night coming this week. We got down to 62 last night.
  19. Going to need something to battle MDT's lows over the next week.
  20. Not thinking there were any Allegiant flights to HGR today. I was allowing for a 2 degree deviation from the HRRR's LSV 83 forecast so 85 to 81. Anyone that hit 86 or above (plenty near the Burg) were not forecast correctly. I did notice the HRRR had Western Franklin hitting 85 today so it did well there was well. Was concentrating on the LSV on my first post.
  21. Time to grade the HRRR. Like almost every warm day this year it was ok for the areas "not too close to Harrisburg" with the exception of the lower lands of Franklin and Perry which also heated up more than forecast today. Mostly low 80's for the York and Lanco areas away from Harrisburg...including down into Maryland. If we ever figure out what is going on for the Capitol Region, it will be interesting.
  22. Now the question, what is wrong with Josh Allen. He was quite off today. Maybe first game jitters.
