I meant more the media. If we have a forecast of 5 straight days of 90-91, it is front page news. 5 straight days of 87-89 and only the weather segment talks about it. Just so much emphasis placed on that magical number which is just 3 degrees above the normal temp for this time of the year.

That is the issue like always. The point and click for MDT has highs 3-4 degrees AN Wed-Sun (though some models are warmer, some cooler) but because that magical 90 mark is hit, it is a heat wave. The highest temp in the point and click for MDT is 91. If it is 88 it is a nice summer day, 90 and people are all of a sudden dying!

Yes, it is like Saturday AM again here. Dark, billowing clouds, a chilly breeze (my wife is watering with a Hershey Bears sweatshirt on), and that fall like look. An amazing 62 degrees at 9:15AM.

With these hot and or dry days, random convection does not cut it. Maybe the stalled front late week does something but for some yards, it is over.

Windows open LSV tonight. Models did a good job showing that line heading into the DelMarVa right now. Dry several days coming up. Despite the rain last night, it will be daily watering starting tomorrow as 4-5 days of dry overcomes even 1-2" of rain prior to it.

Jumped to 95 here before the LSV storms precursor moved in....gray clouds but no rain this far west. Today is worse than any Heat Wave day as to feel IMO.,

Around 1/2" here total. Much higher to the East of the mountain chains ala what Mitch said. Much needed.

About 1/4". It tipped us on the way but to the south. A lot of wind.

Really congealing for a run at the LSV. Nice rain here though the majority of it missed...will take it.

That is my savior but after what just happened to Lanco, it has to be here for me to count it.

That expansion to the tornado warned cell is really close to you. Original cell looked like a Lanco crusher now collapsing south of there.

That cell is collapsing to the south a bit. Hope for round 2 down this way. A dry one so far.

Radar looks slim for far Southers. Going to need part 2 to cash in for many.

Eventually got some sun and less "fall like' now at 86. LOL.

It is humid here but so windy it sort of does not feel it. The sun has not been out for one second today.

Semes to be two camps with mesos. The HRRR and 3K point toward a 1/4"-1/3" type rain (on average) for much of the LSV but convection so many with little and a few with a lot. The other two Rgem and Fv3, are super amped to the North Eastern side of the LSV with 2" in some areas. The only 12Z out so far, the latest HRRR, is fugly.
