  1. The Southeast write up sounds like the beginning of a disaster movie, Southeast Drought Summary Throughout most of the Southeast, rainfall has been largely lacking over the past 3 to 4 weeks. Additionally, much of the region has experienced several heat waves over the past month, resulting in rapidly deteriorating conditions leading up to and including last week. Soil moisture, stream flows, and several derived drought indices are worsening by the day. Impacts are widespread, particularly in the agricultural sector, as pastures and rangelands are going dormant or turning brown, increasing livestock concerns as well. Several reports that crop yields are also in danger if the region doesn’t get any meaningful rainfall soon. High evapotranspiration (i.e. the evaporation of moisture from land and vegetation) rates are rapidly drying out soils and vegetation, increasing fire concerns.
  2. We were out watering this AM as the rain did not get anywhere near the side of the house. Welcome to D1 my friend.
  3. The wundermap stations are reporting 1/4" to 1/3" through both our areas. THV had around a 1/4".
  4. Color me stunned that it is headed right for Harrisburg. Happy Girthday again!
  5. The shaft seems quite long but not overly thick on the latest radar update.
  6. Some cells moving into the far western LSV shortly. (Edit, and they are getting spicy. They have that Harrisburg kind of feeling right now. Todd, PA taking it on the chin.)
  7. Yea, I was basing my assumption on models leading up to the today. Some were showing a push near 100. One of the models, would have to find which, had MDT at 90 before 11AM and 94 at noon on a recent run the last day or two.
  8. MDT went from 91-93-90 in 10 min. I expected them to be 95-97 by now. I thought today would be the hottest day at MDT for a long time but maybe not.
  9. Warmest Meso had MDT getting to the mid/upper 90's today. They are stuck at 89/90. A possible 2 day stretch of underperforming possible worst case.
  10. He used the Euro to learn how to rip out the floors. Bad decision.
  11. Here is the same output for Sept to Nov. Might be an old wives tale! Though this is not Sept-Oct. and includes Nov.
  12. Beep, doop, beep, doop, doop, beep, data output....Precip totals for MDT June-Aug. Also, only 67 days until summer is over.
  13. But the climate is better off with no mowing! Some mowing companies are packing it in for the year because some grass will not recover this summer.
  14. St Augustine? Bring a check for an irrigation and ground heating system then. Outside the fact that it would die in the winter, it needs water every 2-3 days....there is no dormancy like our grass. Water it or it is gone for good.
