Some cells moving into the far western LSV shortly. (Edit, and they are getting spicy. They have that Harrisburg kind of feeling right now. Todd, PA taking it on the chin.)

Yea, I was basing my assumption on models leading up to the today. Some were showing a push near 100. One of the models, would have to find which, had MDT at 90 before 11AM and 94 at noon on a recent run the last day or two.

MDT went from 91-93-90 in 10 min. I expected them to be 95-97 by now. I thought today would be the hottest day at MDT for a long time but maybe not.

Warmest Meso had MDT getting to the mid/upper 90's today. They are stuck at 89/90. A possible 2 day stretch of underperforming possible worst case.

Here is the same output for Sept to Nov. Might be an old wives tale! Though this is not Sept-Oct. and includes Nov.

But the climate is better off with no mowing! Some mowing companies are packing it in for the year because some grass will not recover this summer.

St Augustine? Bring a check for an irrigation and ground heating system then. Outside the fact that it would die in the winter, it needs water every 2-3 days....there is no dormancy like our grass. Water it or it is gone for good.

18Z GFS has no 18Z temps above mid 80's (and only one or 2 of those) through July 4th. Granted, the GFS has been too low by 3 degrees or so during the heatwave but no heatwaves on the near or mid term for this run. A wet weekend (much of it convection so not wet all the time) both on the 18Z GFS and 12Z CMC.

Looks like MDT did 88 or 89 today as well. I truly thought they were headed for 91-94 today.

Did you stop accepting that Monday's were actually a day? (Or did you actually get 90 yesterday?)

Could be a rare case where the warmer meso was overdone for MDT.

If we get rain tomorrow it will help keep stuff limping along for now. There is still some very light green left in some of the grass. Some of it is gone and will not be coming back this year but the majority can still perk with a few convection rains. If it does not rain until the weekend or next week, most is gone.

Up to 83. I am punting on 90 today but not punting on this...if we do not get rain tomorrow, mowing is done for much of the summer. The grass is going dormant right now, brown and crispy, and 3-5 days of no rain pretty much shuts the door until August except some of the shady spots. Convection rain would not be enough then, it would need a day or two soaker with no sun.
