Unless you are 3 years old, then this is a lifetime event.

You can predict that it is impossible for MDT to catch 1966 in Met Summer and VERY unlikely to catch it at all. Your numbers are up until now which are legit, but MDT is not on a pace to break the record which should be mentioned. Also, what of July 2020 when MDT had 22 90+ days that month alone? That is much more impressive in my eyes than 25 for the entire year so far. It has been an up and down summer with the ups being much higher than the downs but the 12 days BN at MDT have counteracted July heat a bit. MDT has a 60 and 61 for lows this month which does not happen every July.

His numbers overlook the backloaded summers that soar the 90-degree day totals. Even if every day between now and Sept 1 was 90, MDT would still not catch 1966 and MDT needs over 20 to catch the war years 1943 and 44.

Day one of our current heat wave opportunity, MDT hit a Heat Index of 89. Ha. However, if you weigh 220 pounds the HI was 91 while if you weigh 140 pounds the HI was 87.

Was waiting to comment on this pending how warm they got yesterday and how warm it stayed last night. With both numbers in it appears they hold on to the 80.x mark and are in a fight to see if they end up the month 3rd, 4th or 5th warmest. If they had dropped much more, they would have fallen out of the top 5. One question today is if they can try to sneak in a 90 to pick up a soft heat wave (to start).

They were all shuttered with the 8 from Dubois at the Red Roof Inn trying to huddle around the one AC unit.

The common mesos's all say MDT gets a lot more than that tomorrow. I know that means nothing other than putting it out there for compare tomorrow.

Current Wunder. 88 here. It feels warm. Cooler to the East of the LSV (and Eastern LSV itself.)

I would agree with this sentiment. With the HIA keeping the lows up it is going to be hard to get months where the highs average 82 when it is 68-70 to start a lot of mornings. Would need a persistent NW (dry) flow.

The Am HRRR's had MDT looking at 87 at noon....more recent have lowered it to 84 and 84 may be a tad too high with them still at 82 at 11:50.

For today. the HRRR has the LSV and upper MA as the only place in the 90's over the entire Eastern 1/3 or 1/4 of the Eastern US.

Yea, sometimes I feel like Friday is more like the weekend than Sunday. Good idea you came up with even if the event itself does not allow time for thinking about Monday. When you are in Florida, Sunday's will not be as bad!

Sounds like maybe it is a good way to end the weekend vs. feeling down. Lot's of people get down on Sunday evening.
