  1. We very well may only achieve 50 % of normal unless there is a massive shift. That looks unlikely. Only a major eruption could cool the Northern Hemisphere. My expectations moving forward are very low. Very sad time to be a snow lover.
  2. This was a decent forecast from Feb 27 th . Also indicates future Nino arriving
  3. Sounds correct, but it does get into phase one by the 15 th.
  4. Dare I say maybe things start trending in our favor versus the normal opposite downhill manner. MJO influence. Not the driver but helping us.
  5. Could one speculate that would mean multiple opportunities?? If you go simply by the indices it would appear the window of opportunity closes around the 23rd
  6. Various indices look very nice from the 17th to the 20th.
  7. Nearing this date and beyond is a nice + PNA spike.
  8. Do you still have hope for us in the lowlands near the 15th to the 20th? Personally I enjoyed being outside on Saturday doing some landscaping.
  9. Even with off shore low to the SE still rain far inland. Nothing here . Pathetic winter.
  10. Snow map are correct 2 % of the time below 45 degree North
  11. No, and the cycle that year was for the MJO to hyper speed into the warmer phase.
  12. As I mentioned seems everything, cause and effect wise, has shifted North in the last several years. Mostly effecting the mid lattitudes..
  13. I read that the Atlantic SST profile has rapidly warmed the last three years.
  14. Maybe typical responses are just further North now due to climate warming? Strong West NAO blocks ? Davis Straits only benefit upper NY state and Maine?
  15. Why are the blocks not delivering? It is the Nina base state? AMO or North Atlantic warm pool ?
  16. Persistence wins. One last chance near the 15 th to the 20 th. Incredible inland and far NW snowstorms the last three years. We need something to re-set the pattern.
  17. A chapter from the PSU 101 " How not to get snow when the pattern looked promising" Cliff notes available on Amazon.
