  1. Just woke from the couch and Euro has a couple decent events next week...that kind of snuck up. Almost too little too late but at least it's something to distract from this Conona exile.
  2. If there's one thing that tells it's been a rat of a winter is that I have not had to use my snowblower even once. I've owned one for about 15 years and that's a first. We'll see what the next couple weeks offer. It's interesting because for most of the winter I was on pace to beat 2018-19 but that season has now surpassed this one by 5 inches. Barely more than half of normal at this point.
  3. Jealous of what VT has seen the past few days. Leaving Crotched today. Conditions pretty bad after the rain Thursday but improved yesterday. Despite that we had some fun. Just getting up high for the views makes it worthwhile... .
  4. Quite the long lasting squall here. Looks like 1/2 inch so far.
  5. Jeez. 54F at 11pm on 12/14. Not much white left in my area...just piles. The rain can stay away until spring thank you very much.
  6. Spent several February vacations at Saddleback back in the 80s. Will always remember that t-bar to the summit. Used to joke it was like a black diamond t-bar. I fondly recall a day the conditions were pretty rough, like heavy squalls with temps in the teens and going up that t-bar with ski patrol. Most everyone else had called it a day by that point. Looking forward to getting back up there again.
  7. I have a distinct memory of a report on NBC nightly news from some time in the 80s where they said Mount Washington recorded a wind chill of -200. I'd have to think the -107 is more likely but maybe I'll try to find it in the archives somewhere.
  8. I'm afraid if I go snow blow now that band just to the west is going to drop another 6 before morning. Seems like it wants to slowly come east. 30F, light-mod snow
  9. Starting to feel effects of that band pivoting in from offshore. Down to 29F
