i dont know...sometimes ICON hates storms that other models like. Its not like the FV3 that shows a snowstorm every 3 days. Usually when the ICON shows snow...its worth looking at

man...if there could just be an error in the modeling at the upper levels..what a storm this would be. This had HECS potential had we had better blocking. This was the epic feb storm that we were dreaming about in the Fall

well i counted the 6-7 hours of snow panels. The models that had is mixing at 18z also started the moderate snow later. I would rather have it start earlier like the NAM3k is showing

I would classify this as a major winter storm and not a major snowstorm unfortunately. Hopefully there is a error at upper levels like in November.

most of the time when people say its much better than....its usually not. i hate model extrapolation. Let the run play out. The change was noise imo..if it had trended back to 00z NAM...than yes

i remember the GFS(before they broke it and it stopped giving us snow) was showing 20 inch plus amounts for run after the run but the euro was showing mostly rain...then it started to pick up on CAD. The GFS runs were pretty east though

yep.....i would rather a strong Nino(2016) than a weak one. Weak Ninos seem mediocre. i heard 97-98 had a lot of close blockbuster misses
