  1. You would think it's New Years Eve if you venture to a state store today. No booze, no sports and the stock market is tanking again. Down 2100 as I type...happy times!
  2. Glenn working the 11pm shift. Friday morning should be a tad interesting, heavy rain, possible thunderstorms and a windy afternoon then a cooler Sat. I'll take what I can get these days...
  3. Not that we didn't already know but I'm watching NBC10 at 11am and Glenn says "Winter is over". That's a little bold for him considering there's 2/3 of March left and even early April. I agree w/him but I'm not an on air Met who will have to eat crow if a freak storm happens...
  4. 9 and have Bos next...pretty pumped. As far as winter...what a dud. I mean, I didn't use a shovel all year...didn't even use a broom to dust off a coating. That's really sad.
  5. Because it's not in the cards this year. Enjoy today because between the temps and the somewhat gusty winds (and perhaps flurries) it will be the closest thing to winter till next year. Sad but more than likely true...
  6. Lazy flurries here w/the sunshine....still gusty winds. 39F
  7. True that. Pretty sad but I'm looking forward to tonight's rain (w/possible thunder) and a gusty/windy day tomorrow with highs around 40 but wind chill much lower. 50F cloudy
  8. Quite frankly the whole program seemed like a "bait and switch" where only the top tier were selected and middle to lower tier were screwed and already made plans to move to Vermont...they said no funds available...Vermont wins.
  9. If this is the program all the funds are depleted at this time. https://www.thinkvermont.com/remote-worker-grant-program-2019/ UPDATE As of January 6, 2020, the Remote Worker Grant Program awarded all of the funds allocated to it. The funding was awarded on a first come first served basis as appropriated. We apologize for the inconvenience, but applications are not being accepted at this time while the Agency of Commerce and Community Development and the Legislature evaluate the possibility of additional funding for the continuation of the program.
  10. This weekend may be the last time we see 30s for a high and any chance of snow is a pipe dream....
  11. Not only that but you can really feel the Spring sun kicking in...it penetrates the skin. Took a walk and I think I could get some color today if hanging outside? Winter sun may be bright but doesn't "hit you" like a late Feb/heading toward Spring sun does. It's a vast difference from early Dec through Jan then it slowly goes downhill. We're on life support....
  12. Watching NBC10 weather...last time Philly received an inch of snow was 3/3/19 and we're certainly going to add days since the future doesn't look too bright snow-wise.
  13. Sounds great in my book! I'd still be a Philly sports fan but would enjoy better climate/wilderness life and less congestion from the 95 corridor big cities/close suburbs. I could do without the hassle as I grow older....
  14. I want no part of this....I want to see snow and hate warmth and the idea of no snow ever would be very depressing. Ideally N/NW Maine/New Hampshire would be great. Plenty of snow, cooler summers, hunting, fishing etc. Locally speaking, I would head to a place like Jim Thorpe. Nice scenery, history and usually don't get shafted by the rain/snow line like down here. If anything, it changes to sl;eet/frz rain and it's still a cool event.
  15. I really don't see any chance of snow the rest of the season....if so, very minimal. Again this week we hit mid 40's -50's with rain than a another cold shot by Thurs - Friday or so. And not really cold...mid to upper 30s highs? And repeat after that? Pretty sure Philly is under 1" for the year. I may be at 2"? Really a pathetic winter and if this becomes the norm moving is certainly an option. And one would only need to move 100-150 miles to see something resembling winter...
  16. Deceiving looks outside today. Not knowing the weather forecast I would have guessed 40-50F but I'm at 29F. (11:20am)
  17. I wouldn't go as far as "torch" but yeah cash me in on this winter. In return, give me an active/cool Spring/Summer severe season to even things out a bit. This Winter has truly been lame...it has been nonexistent. We barely had things to track and it's over.... (smack to the head)
  18. Yep...I think I said this in another thread. Feels like an eternal Fall and we're waiting for Winter to "kick in". Guess what....Spring is fast approaching and hearing the damn birds chirping with "showers" in mid Feb doesn't help!
  19. It's really unbelievable how much we've been screwed this winter. My sister lives in VA and will probably see some flakes while we get shafted yet again...
  20. You got that right...damn! Dagger in the heart. However I remember w/the 83' blizzard they had him on every half-hour or so and he kept increasing the amounts....happy day! I think initially it was 8-12"...then 12-16"...then 16 - 20".....then we exceeded that.
  21. I was a die hard KYW listener in my youth but since the internet I rarely listen to them at all. I would always wait for the Mets to chime in...sometimes live (during a snowstorm) or recorded when not much was going on. This may be a good avenue for Glenn as he approaches retirement. He may want to quit the NBC10 gig altogether and just report for KYW which he probably could do from home. If I was him I would take that route if available....
  22. Just going by the WU temp at 5am which has me at 9F. Took a walk and it's not horrible. The key factor is absolutely NO wind...dead calm.
