    I’ve been decorating Christmas trees for many years. Today was the only day I remember it snowing while I put the lights on the tree. Pandora played Christmas music and it was a day to remember! Probably banter, move if necessary.

    Lightly snowing still and temp is 33.1* based on my wireless thermometer. Alexa says it’s 30* but she also gives me info based on Stokesdale obs so who knows.

    Snow is still falling at a decent rate. It never stuck to the roads or sidewalk in my neighborhood. 34.9* now.

    You seem to be colder every time during winter. Made it to 35.4*. Snow is starting to stick to the car, grass and mulch.

    Flakes are starting to mix in. Whatever falls as snow is a win for me. If it ends up sticking that’s a bonus!

    There's some wind now where earlier nothing was moving. Up to 37*; I’m guessing (hoping) the wind is the cold air moving in?

    I was optimistic last night coming home from Pfafftown as the temp dropped and was 32* when I got home. I checked a few times overnight and the temp went to 34*, then 35* and now it’s 36*. We have light rain and I’m hoping the cold air north of Dville makes its way here.

    Is anyone in Greenville, NC near campus? My daughter called to say there are weird lights in the sky. Would it be possible to see the auroras? She sent pictures and it’s cloudy and there’s a teal tint to the sky. I’m wondering if it’s just reflections.

    Just checked the cameras and it’s snowing off of Russ Cornett/Poplar Grove outside of Boone. Hate I’m missing it. After I thought about it, I checked temps and it’s not cold enough so never mind. I just assumed the precip was snow.

    The temp at my home hasn’t moved from 51 all day but I see online temps for here are 48.

    Edit to add it’s hard to see on camera if it’s still snow but the asphalt is covered.

    Actually just up from Boone at 3500-4000 it was snowing and starting to stick to grass and roads around 6:30

    Radar shows snow nearby so I’m waiting patiently… I’m also not expecting to see snow…

    Was there a rocket launch off the east coast in the last few minutes? I didn’t get to see it but was told there was a contrail and a bright light on the horizon facing in a SW direction. I thought it was from wallops island but it looks like what was seen here wasn’t it bc wallops island was eastern nc/seaboard.

    It’s raining again and I don’t think it got above 39 here today.

    Well it happened again overnight last night and the current storms have missed Eden so far. We need rain.

    Tullioz, Did you ever get any rain? Like you, I was under warnings for awhile and had dark clouds and lightning, but absolutely no rain. It’s crazy to watch radar to see storms heading this way from mainly the N/NW and they split just north of Eden and then regroup south of Eden.

    Took kids and pets to the basement but didn’t experience much here thankfully. I’m very worried about the Wentworth area.

    Here are a few pictures from yesterday afternoon after the hail storm. Most were pea size or a little larger but there were some that were around 1” or slightly larger.
