  1. I'm not a fan of this event to be honest but hopefully a couple locations can get an inch out of this.
  2. We're above average against our highest normals ever. I don't think people understand what that actually means.
  3. DCA: +2.5 NYC: +2.5 (+4.5 at ewr and +3.5 at lga) BOS: +3.5 ORD: +3.0 ATL: +2.0 IAH: +3.0 DEN: +3.5 PHX: +3.0 SEA: +1.7
  4. Nope. Ewr is still wrong
  5. Yup but I'll take a little.
  6. 3k nam looks ok for some rain. Hrr has some rain.
  7. Euro vs rgem, hrdps, nams
  8. Also, theoretically, I could see the location of the asos at EWR adding a little bit to the temps but it's representative of where millions of people live (next to blacktop and the "concrete jungle" of nenj and nyc).
  9. I don't think anyone is tossing New Brunswick though. I think their numbers are accurate in 2022.
  10. I respect the Mount Holly mets but I don't think they're using all the information available. In the end, our discussion isn't all that important but I still want accuracy. It does bother me greatly that NYC's climate statistics have been severely compromised for such a long period of time.
  11. We use evidence. There's variables in play and nuance to this discussion.
  12. @FPizz can you please ask then their rationale behind saying that? I just want to understand where they are coming from.
  13. They are likely using MADIS and MADIS is wrong.
  14. No one says a word when FOX is 15-20 colder than ISP on radiational cooling nights. But when EWR is 1-3 degrees warmer than other stations in the area people have a big issue with it. You have to wonder why that is.
  15. Somerville 100 Harrison 99
  16. Prob smells pretty bad. This heatwave is bootleg without the high dews.
  17. No one said there wasn't a ton of concrete/blacktop near the airport but it's representative of the area.
  18. No it hasn't. Only TEB but TEB was running way too warm for years until they fixed it in 2020.
  19. So you'll ignore all the evidence. Ok then.
  20. It's hot. But thank god @binbissohelped keep those dews away today or it would feel miserable. This heatwave, while historic in parts of NJ, doesn't feel all that bad compared to what it could feel like.
  21. That's why the debate. *And half my subforum.
