Morning. 13F. Light snow changing to moderate at times. Deck table looks to be over 1”. Come on sunrise!
-
Thank you all for the wonderful insight regarding this storm. Have 2-5 gal cans of propane which should give me 8 to 10 hrs of heat. Losing power is my fear with this one. Also going to crank up the heat tomorrow morning for a bit. 13F feels like 1. It’s cold.

Sorry for the non weather question. I’m old and a widow so preparing. Adam Joseph said don’t shovel the snow before it flips cause you’ll never get the frozen stuff off a bare walk. Is he correct? Just had a pretty good wind gust. Cold front incoming. Wind chimes going nuts just now.

It will be sleeting here (IMBY) by game time. At least I can have a champagne and egg breakfast, so I am not all that down. All our forums are very active with this huge storm. Hoping all make out OK, I've been reading all of them.
-
Wow. Not sure my location will hit double digits before the flip. I'll take 6-8" and like it. It's that frozen junk that has me worried. Huge storm.

What do y'all think the potential for power outages will be? Less than 50%? Not so much during the storm but possibly either tomorrow night or Monday. Thinking about getting some propane tanks filled so I can have a source of heat (fireplace) if needed. Not so worried about seeing if the generator will work as I'll just put stuff in a cooler outside to stay cold/frozen.

Car was @3F. after sunrise. Beautiful morning. Vapor streams out of chimneys and exhaust pipes. -

Is your tank outside? Heat tape on the oil line(s) might help. Mine is in the basement with the line going into the top and not all the way down. I have to watch my gauge 'cause at 1/4 I'm out. -

Loving it. Two days in a row!! Light but blowing snow down here. Cleaned the walk and car earlier. Both covered again. -

Guesstimating right about 1” down here in southern Chesco. Landlord came and plowed and it did nothing but tear up the gravel! Yet if it’s going to be sub freezing guess it’s a good thing. Over performer for sure. -
Horrible game. Can't even win a snowstorm either!

The winter of '94 stands alone as it's my one and only memory of living in the frozen tundra in my lifetime. And I'm old!! At the time I worked for an oil company and those 3 weeks in January were hell. After those 1st few days the service dept was working 24 hrs. Delivery trucks had an awful time getting around and some days they couldn't get out at all! Owner bought 3 or 4 new pickup trucks and put 100 gallon tanks and a pump on the back. Only way to get oil into the larger capacity tanks. Service vans were packed full of 5 gal cans for the standard tanks. School kids were out there helping both the techs and drivers. Everyone wore spikes! In the office the phone rang off the hook! A couple of times the police would show up since customers were having a hard time getting through, they called 911. I had about 4 pages of a legal pad with names and addresses of frozen houses. Our sales team became service techs and owner purchased a machine to help them go on those calls to unfreeze people's pipes. The paperwork and posting of payables and receivables were a lot. Will never forget it. Go Birds!

Have pictures of us as kids back in 1966 Christmas Day. I was 5 and don't remember. 1978 they didn't plow 1 street in our neighborhood, and we all went sledding down that street for days. Feb 1983 was out in that one all day/night. First time witnessed thunder and lighting. Jan 1996 Eagles played Dallas in Dallas that day. I didn't get out for 2 days after that one. Feb 2014 I was staying with my Mom after my father's death and it felt like all I did was shovel snow. Was it 2010 that we had the 2 storms in a week of each other? That was a lot of snow. Cars were buried and we cleared the deck before the 2nd one hit. Stucco windowsills froze outside the house and thawed so many times they blew apart. Maybe we'll get one good one this year. -

I'm pretty old and don't recall a tropical set up like this. It will be really interesting to watch. Really humid and gross out. -

Sort of scared of T-storms. Might bug outta work a little early. That Thursday storm a couple of weeks ago was heck-drove home right into it. Last year a bad one came thru and the wind broke a window on the house. Won't forget that crashing noise. Year or 2 before that lost a shed. Literally blew off the foundation and came back all mangled. Have a feeling these maybe some heavy hitters. Radar lighting up with warnings north and west of here. -

95F Dew of 75 so feels like 109! I truly cannot remember hitting 100F out here in the country. Like seeing all your readings at different locations. Anyway you slice it, it's HOT! One last reading. 70F in my living room. -
