    Drove and hiked through some pea soup fog on Grandfather after work today to find a couple inches of snow at the Boone Fork Bridge.

    My dad got 6" in Cleveland, GA today. That's a bigger snow than I've had since our 18 back 2 Decembers ago. Actually I'm fairly sure that's more than I've seen total since then, since I'm sitting on about 15 T's this season. *sigh*

    That's about where it was when I saw the runs last night. That 13z was the most it showed I think. Just happened to get up as that run was coming out.

    The hrrr is convinced some moisture rides up the apps. 5z actually shows some good totals along the escarpment. Not getting my hopes up too high but it's sticking to its guns for now.

    New 0z HRRR looking decent for the NW mountains tomorrow evening. Seems to build in some precip against the mountains around 21z. Here's hoping since I barley picked up 1/2" today.

    We had thundersleet for sure in foscoe about 330. Woke me up with a strike a quarter mile from the house.

    Yeah. Seems about right. Somebody stole a snow shield and put it up in Boone evidently. Never in my life have I been so disappointed with a season. At least living down in GA I knew not to expect anything. Up here though?

    I'm a little lost on why neither Greenville or Blacksburg has issued a flood watch. Not like the models haven't been showing the potential for days now or anything. FFC put theirs out yesterday.

    Just drove from Boone to Hickory. Blowing rock did pretty well and the ground was coated pretty much the whole way down.

    I'm at home in Foscoe right now. It's back to a mix but went to light rain/drizzle for a few minutes and wiped out the dusting we had going. If it's going to rain anywhere it's from here down to Valle Crucis. Edit: back to drizzle. *sigh*
