  1. GYX playing it conservatively with it's snow forecast--which is still pretty healthy. Not hitting wind issues at all. I suspect they'll still be strong enough to keep my lawn free of accumulation while up the street they need a yard stick. Have adjusted snow ratios down, and for now have suppressed model QPF somewhat to generate snowfall forecast. This leaves room for upward or downward adjustment as the event draws closer. That said still appears to be yet another significant snowfall event for the region. Based on current track and QPF alignment mid-coast and central Maine appear to be best aligned to see the greatest snowfall.
  2. Reading this is like reading a real-time Messenger post. Looks like I'm going to need to head to Pit2 again. Hopefully my wife won't mind....
  3. Apologies for the non-tech post. My nephew is sheltered in place in Vieques. SHare good thoughts and prayers to him and all others on PR and it's associated islands.
  4. Go big or go home. Snow can't stick in September.
  5. Boy, that would be a year from hell for you: a cool, dry summer followed by a dud winter. You might want to fire up your spring '18 lawn thread now and be done with it.
  6. And, it feels even warmer with the relatively cooler air temops. The afternoon commute traffic this summer sucked the big one. Don't know what was up with that.
  7. beware the lowering sun angle. During the month of August, we'll lose about 75 minutes of day light. tick, tick, tick.
  8. I'm fine with a day or two like that at Pit2. Just make it nice enough at some point to make it to 5-islands and I'm fine (sounding a bit like Jeff Spiccoli there).
  9. Im hoping gor the best. I have about 3 mile view looking north up the river. Im keeping my fingers crossed.
  10. I'm taking my COC week of 70's and running with it. I'm flying to Maryland today just for an overnight. It's going to be upper 80's there--I'll give summer your regards. Dank start to today. Pea soup and 61.0*
  11. I managed to hit 80 or higher 6 times in the past month, 3 of those were the 3 hot days from June 11-13 when I went 86, 88, 85.. I had 4 days in the past month where I came in shy of 70*.
  12. 6 minutes gone already and by the end of the week, we'll be losing at a rate of more than a minute/day and well over 2 minutes/day by months end. Let the foliage clock begin--they might even be getting some color in West Chesterfield.
  13. Got to 76 here. No complaints from me.
  14. By the time it hits it will be close to mid-July when posts will begin about folks first noticing the later sunrise/set.
  15. And CT will begin to leaf out.
  16. Better one bad half than one bad whole.
  17. 74* with a strong breeze hete at Chez Pit at 12:45. We call this COC.
  18. What did you do to your shoulder? Mine's been messed up for about 3 months now. Some type of rotator cuff and/or nerve stuff. Lots of pain. In fact, just came back from PT whcih is allowing me to work from home today. Up to 67.5, approaching the midnight high of 68.5.
  19. Gorgeous morning at the Pit. Dropped down to 57.4* overnight with bright sun and a breeze to start the day. Up to 61.4* now with a p/c of 74* on tap. We COC. Is there any shot at sun in the midst of the weekend showers? I'm going to be up in Maine--will suck to be stuck in crap the whole time.
