  1. Even though the 84* sucks, the light breeze is surprisingly refreshing.
  2. I can only imagine how overrun the Boston Common is. The hawks will be well-fed. On the plus side, the dead gypsy-infested oaks in Kevin's hood won't be dropping any acorns this year. Food might be scarce for the coming year.
  3. Gross night--only managed 68.3* barring any further tickles before the rebound. The change in a few hours will be most welcomed.
  4. I'm selling two sets of studded tires. One--or I suppose two-- of many out there on Craig's list.
  5. Glad we don't live there. The high at the Pit of 83.8* was bad enough.
  6. No car payments are a great things. Relish it while you can.
  7. Congrats on the car. You might be one of those very few people that drives more after retirement than before! Looking forward to the cool weekend.
  8. Man it's toasty. Driving home it was 92* at the Greenfield rotary and 84* at the Pit. Yuck.
  9. LOL. Getting 1900-1930 vintage would feel like a contemporary compared to our prior homes. FYI--we're going to be having a moving sale next weekend (I think) in case you have any interest.
  10. Agree on all. At the end of the day, I know Petersham and Ashburnham will be ruled out based on distance. Having come from older homes though, I think the newer 1900-1930 classics in ORH are hard to beat. From an architectural standpoint, they are just fantastic.
  11. LMAO. I'll send him the coordinates prior to making any offers.
  12. Just looked, there's only one house on the market at this point. LOL. At least you made it to Litchfield County. While of course it's not Norfolk or Salisbury, it is the the CT county for winter fun and probably the best spot of any CT posters.
  13. Truth told--there are a lot of opinions being offered without my even asking. I think it's likely on any of our minds when relocating.
  14. Im seeing Petersham coming in at 1080 versus Paxton’s 1158’. I’m not sure that in of itself makes much of an impact. I like it because it’s not as crowded as Paxton—truly tranquil with beautiful homes.
  15. Thanks, Will. If we're outside the city, I'm going to push for further out towards Petersham. That said, me pushing and actually winning are two different things as my wife will likely look towards Grafton/Westborough where she's from. Also, where is the 'weenie ridge' you speak of in Princeton? That's not out of the question. Our earlier house in Worcester was on Moreland. We love the architecture of the houses on the streets on/near/between Salisbury and Pleasant. My guess is 'house' will win out over snow total in our deliberations.
  16. LOL--you know that's going to be the case. The IP will fly through ORH, Kevin will be flipping to rain and GC will be buried.
  17. Bummer--good luck! If you know anyone who's looking, point 'em my way.
  18. Thanks, Jerry. I expect we'll have it up within 3 weeks. Meanwhile, dumping a bunch of stuff on Craigs list (I have two sets of snow tires in case anyone's in need). One good thing about moving toward central mass is easier proximity to the get-togethers. Beautiful day--pushing 69* at 10:30.
  19. Yeah--we're looking west side (which is where we had lived before). It does seem that the long-touted (decades) but never arriving turnaround of Worcester is actually taking hold. Like any city it will have its issues but it has a lot of things going for it with new good news regularly coming out of it, e.g., ORH has finally gotten commercial airlines coming in (Jet Blue, American and Delta now). They've got a ways to go in that respect but that's a big investment on the part of those airlines. Glad we'll be buying now rather than trying to later. First we need to sell the Pit. Things don't move quickly here so I'm pretty sure I'm here for at least one more season of qpf-woes.
  20. They're a tortoise, not a hare. They just get lots of pennies and nickles that add up. Colder temps allow the season to start earlier which helps in the change collection.
  21. My wife is a VP at Clark, so we'll be looking in the ORH area. Worcester has the best houses--just fantastic architecture. We had lived there about 15 years ago.
