  1. Kicked up pretty quickly. Ways to go before anything noteworthy though.
  2. Models come our an hour earlier beginning tomorrow. Woot!
  3. Meh. I actually sold the generator as part of our 'getting rid of stuff for the move" campaign. Breeeze just starting here.
  4. So gusts 30-40. Sounds closer to reality. The only real risk for damage in SNE will be in NE Mass. Fun up by you though.
  5. GYX has lower gusts at Pit 2 (with a high wind warning) than BOX does for GC. Bring them way down.
  6. I'd say an Adirondack ass-kicker is a better bet. A 'Dack's Decks Destroyer.
  7. Yeah--those gusts are exceeding the advisory they have in place.
  8. The Quabbin was 95.7% full on October 1. I'm guessing it'll be nearing capacity as we continue through this wet period. Perhaps getting to 2011-2012 levels. (it actually hit 100.4% at one point). Out of curiosity I just came across this: the Quabbin averages a gain of about 1.6 billion gallons from 1" of rain. Kevin could water his lawn and wash his cars a lot with that.
  9. I think the difference in the "much more" vs. "more" forecast is tied to the impact cooler temps would make more precipitation in NYC snow rather than NCP. Boston's somewhat cooler temps (climo) are less likely to be impacted--snowing at 32* and snowing at 31* isn't making the difference. To be sure, the cooler temps help in Boston since it flips frequently. But I'm speculating that the increase is tied more to precip than temp for Boston and for NYC the combo of temp and precip. Either way--it sounds good. Hopefully the precip will make it up to Pit2.
  10. eager to see what you report from the overnight. Meanwhile, methinks BOX is being a bit aggressive for the winds in GC. They have us in an advisory which I think makes sense, but the p/c and zfp both have this. Today Showers and possibly a thunderstorm before 1pm, then scattered showers. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. Areas of fog before 1pm. Temperature rising to near 55 by 11am, then falling to around 45 during the remainder of the day. Breezy, with a light and variable wind becoming west 15 to 20 mph in the morning. Winds could gust as high as 60 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible. Tonight Mostly clear, with a low around 32. West wind 8 to 17 mph, with gusts as high as 55 mph. I'd shave 15 mph off of both.
  11. Where’s my old stomping grounds of GON on that?
  12. Congrats jspin. Great. I’m getting my qpf.
  13. Pouring again. Picked up quite a bit today.
  14. We all know what he meant. We're ribbing because he got it wrong.

  16. The rains' finally letting up.....what a deluge.
  17. Some heavy showers have been going through, occasional thunder.
  18. I'm so glad we're getting all this much-needed rain.
  19. One is pretty full, but I don't spend any time (or money) in that area, but a fair amount of that is pine down there. That's what the wind's for.
  20. There's quite a bit of pine back there. Nothing near the house.
