  1. Wear a mask and social distance. Otherwise life should carry on without restrictions on where and when you can go.
  2. I respect your opinion, but think you're completely wrong. Life cannot and should not cease to exist because a certain high risk group of people are susceptible to the virus. There are precautions and mitigation that can help reduce the spread until a vaccine. Shutting down the world and people's lives is not an option. It will cause more harm than good. Couch 'taters may not get this.
  3. No offense to you Stebo but should we lock down until a vaccine is presented? If a mask helps prevent the spread, let's all strap one one and go about our business. Do you want airlines to go bankrupt, only to bail them out with our tax dollars? Guess I'm confused. Life has to go on.
  4. Don't play the victim now, you've been pro-lockdown from the beginning, and I do understand that to a degree considering where you live, but don't hold us all to your standards and then cast judgement.
  5. Yes there are hot spots in the country. The majority of MI counties tho, are just like here in the UP. The cases in MI are mostly in a "tri-county" area. You have to understand the frustration the majority of Michiganders feel who's lives have been not only disrupted (to say the least), but in some cases, changed forever... for a virus that didn't really affect the community they live in. There's two sides to every argument, and tbh, I'm a little tired of only one side being considered. Somehow, if I want to live my life, I'm then selfish and don't care about humanity. **** that. And **** your narrow mind.
  6. There have been 104 confirmed cases in the entire UP. MOST of the 10 deaths(13 total up-wide) in Marquette county have been at a nursing home, as well as a good deal of the confirmed cases in general. I will wear a mask where required, but other than that I am living my life and enjoying my freedoms. If that makes me a careless egotistical asshole, good.
  7. I took clippers and a #1 guard and just buzzed it. I've gotten use to it I guess. A sock hat outside is a necessity.
  8. Maybe it's the same reason people are being triggered because you can go get a haircut.
  9. Stop swimming upstream, fall inline.
  10. My post was mostly aimed at media bias when it comes to reporting on Biden vs Trump, not at Biden directly. That said, Biden could try and muster up some enthusiasm. That would be a good start.
  11. ...meanwhile weekend at Biden's playing as scheduled.
  12. Some people are wearing masks, some aren't. With a crowd that size, it will be interesting to see if cases spike down the road a couple weeks. It'll be telling either way.
  13. I don’t think people are as restless as they are worried.
  14. On that same date, he also advised the President that it was okay to proceed with campaign rallies as long as people were healthy, then quickly changed.
  15. As late as Feb 29th, one of the primary experts (Fauci) advising the President said in an interview on the Today Show, "No need to change lifestyle yet". If that's what was being advised at the time, what do you think the president should have done differently, instead of listening to the experts? Plenty of blame to go around. Hopefully as a country we can learn from this and make better decisions next time.
  16. I find it interesting during yesterdays presser, Dr. Fauci stated that the president never once didn't listen to their recommendations and didn't "push back" at the idea of shutting down. The president said yes to every recommendation made to him by the "experts".
  17. I'm not arguing the validity of the lockdown or social distancing measures, I've been out two times in a month. It's just the list of essential/nonessential seems arbitrary to me.
  18. I guess driving to the gas station to purchase lottery tickets, totally essential. Can't go buy paint but you can go to the pot shop. It's just silly. Also... a lot of people in colder areas indoor garden and greenhouse grow and the time for that is now.
  19. Michigan in particular with its tourist driven economy could really face hard times. I can't imagine the UP without the summer visitors. There's 311, 000 people UP-wide, many businesses would fold pretty quick if people can't afford vacations and travel. The ripple effect of this whole situation is still unknown, but business as usual is done. (imo)
  20. UMB must have been tossin' em back last night.
  21. My sister and her bf, who both work as RN's at a hospital in central Florida, both have symptoms and were told to "come in anyway, probably allergies".
  22. I'd assume misinformation or even ignorance over racism in the case of Rogue. I believe he is a good guy and that's all I'll say.
