  1. Low level jet looks nice for tomorrow. But have to imagine the relatively stable atmosphere reduces the frequency of wind gusts mixing to the surface. In the heavy downpours...sure. But just seems like these modeled southerly wind events don't often play out. We have better luck with strong CAA events than these southern ones.
  2. I'm going to be so disappointed if we don't get at least 1 modeled blizzard out of this.
  3. Looks at 00z guidance. Promptly throws computer out of window. Reaches for bottle of jack daniel's muttering something about where was this pattern in January?
  4. Overnight convection will probably stick a fork in this threat.
  5. GYX forecast for KASH: Probabilistic Snowfall: 5" 1 in 10%: 4" It's been 8 years since I've done a statistics class, but this doesn't make sense right?
  6. Well that escalated quickly. Went to bed with GYX giving me 3". Wake up under a Winter Storm Warning and a forecast of 8". With the Euro and RGEM giving 12". (Now where did I leave my shovel back in December?)
  7. Might as well. Don't have anything else to do. Bring it!
  8. With snow officially gone, a free weekend and no sports to watch, I'm all in on cleaning up from winter tomorrow. Should be a little chilly, but will be good to be out working in the yard. Hoping to clear the yard and get early spring fertilizer down this weekend.
  9. Glad this is going to miss. Have been on to Spring for a month plus.
  10. What's this crap the Euro & Canadian are trying to sell us for next weekend? Surely I won't have to pay attention till Thursday.
  11. As expected. 2" and now over to drizzle. Next stop spring?
  12. How you know people are over this winter. Only 9 pages in this thread. If this was December, there'd by 75.
  13. GYX is awfully bullish. I'm expecting half of that. I like 2" of snow followed by 1/2" of sleet & 6 hours of drizzle.
  14. Hope it stays that way. Just enough ice on the trees. Very pretty in the sun though.
  15. It is odd. The snowflakes has coincided with the brightest sky of the day.
  16. I wasn't even paying attention. I figured I was in for a day of prolonged mist.
  17. Also.......this things is absolutely ripping northeast. Will be out of here in no time.
  18. I was not expecting to see snowflakes today.........
  19. Have hung on to the cold here all morning. Must be right at 32. Trees have a nice crust on them. Should be interesting to see how far north the warm front can make it.
  20. Love it. Kiss this sorry excuse for Winter goodbye and move on to golf season. We keep this pattern up, maybe the course will be open in March down south. Hoping to get out a couple more times this year than last (~10). Hoping to keep my strides with the putter going from last year. Would really like to get to a 2 handicap. Not that I have one officially, but probably around a 6. A new set of sticks (mine are now 7 years old) and playing more often should do it. On the topic of equipment, I was at the local golf store towards the end of last season. I was complaining to the guy that I hit the ball too high and I'm losing distance. He stuck me in one of those TrackMan machines. My spin rate was absurd, like 8,000 rpms with my 7-iron (tour average is ~6,500). Guy handed me a 2019 7-iron and my rpms dropped to 6,800. The new technology is insane. Now what to do to convince the wife a new set of sticks is ok. lol
  21. This. Thank you. Thank you very much for saying this.
  22. Selfishly rooting for this thing to rip up through New York state. Driving north on 93 Friday evening from Nashua to Lincoln. Ice storm = do not want.
  23. We all know where this is headed. Congrats Montreal.
