pretty sure it is very cold in alaska right now saw a claim of 60below at one location

the posts above show the it is NOT being melted by warmer air it shows ocean currents moving it around constantly and moving some south where it does indeed melt.i was aware my link was from a few yeas ago but it shows today there is more older ice than there was in 2011 something not possible if warmer air is melting the older ice.....because it is supposed to be warmer now than in 2011

to make the claim REQUIRES there be no margin of error......because to say one year was .01 degree warmer than another REQUIRES the margin of error to be much less than .O1....the claim itself excludes there being any margin of error.......and i must ask who is the "we all" you posted of? "all" includes many people.

i see a margin of error .15 for that one small place, yet those same folks claim precision to within hundredths of a degree with NO margin of error = the claims that one month or year was .01 warmer than the other are pure BS.

we had cold air daming last night here nw of birmingham....27 for a low and you could see the cold filtering into this area from the NE right along the appalachians

no science in this post i told my wife to watch the 7th-12th days each month this winter, no reason just a feeling something wintry will happen

i agree and will add it is far too complex to single out human released co2 and claim it is the driver of our climate.

the greenhouse effect is an insulating effect.....can anybody here name any insulator that ADDS heat to the system it is insulating? my understanding of insulation is it SLOWS the movement of the heat energy but in no way traps that heat and does NOT in any way ADD any extra heat to the system..... if my understanding is wrong please show an insulator that ADDS heat?

i prefer discussing issues and using my own brain, the "studies" you so much prefer are PAID to find the results they find........real science says there is nothing unusual going on now that hasnt gone on for eons.....co2 levels have been much higher in the past and YOU cant blame humans for that FACT.......

the heat index is the actual heat and an equation using the relative humidity, that is nothing akin to the climate stats it is about the actual current conditions, exposure to extreme heat having an impact on ones health has nothing to do with the "climate".......and please learn there is a "link" between every past event in weather and the "climate" and also learn a "link"says ZERO about the "cause".....the same links between weather and climate has always existed there is NO change in that reality.

i also see a graph with clearly whatever is being measured is leveling off in the near now time area but the line drawn shows the OPPOSITE is shows a sharper increase in whatever is being measured, the line drawn does NOT match the graph.

there is nothing there saying what that graph shows, then and now are not the parameters of a graph with any meaning.......

the "climate" is a set of statistics, it is not a force and claims it is causing fires in california this year are insane beyond belief......

amazing....the climate always changes, it is a set of statistics used to describe the past weather and used to predicts what is the normal conditions now......those statistics constantly change so their output will also constantly change.......to claim we humans CAUSE these climate changes indeed is NOT science and is rather NON thinking on any level.......mock me all you desire but i post truth in laymans terms........the weather constantly changes and i assure YOU we humans are NOT the cause of constantly changing weather.

spot on yes averages can be taken out that many places but that is NOT what i am discussing, my POINT is the ACCURACY of those averages is nothing close to the precision needed to claim accuracy to within hundredths of a degree..... in summary yes you can average many number out to many decimals places but that is NO WAY means the final result is an accurate scientific reading.

you example above gives an average NOT a meaningful single average for that area.......nowhere in that area likely was 50.001, so that number in reality has no useful info or meaning

plus or minus .1 degreeC does NOT give one accuracy to within hundredths of a degree.

The issue doesn’t mean measuring sea ice extent or area is not science. The issue concerns limitations of satellite-based measurements and the concept of margins of error. Statistically, when error is considered, measurements within 40,000 km2 are treated as being the same.<<< TY so now we have a large margin of error when taking a picture and measuring it, YET your side still claims to have precision in a single global temperature to within hundredths of a degree.....and no mention of any margin of error in those claims. bottom line = the claims we humans are the cause of climate change is IDIOCY and not one shred of science backs that claim.

"Human activities have caused a 1.0°C rise in the global temperature over the past 150 years." TRUTH = the earth has warmed that much since coming out of the little ice age, YOU nor anybody else has any evidence that humans are the "cause" of this happening.......

the above post is a vicious attack on an honest person.........Iceland IS a highly active volcano area, to claim there is nothing to support the claim some heat could be coming from under OK is just a LIE.
