  1. Some places in Buncombe got snow that normally don't out of that direction. Even Mills River had a dusting. Probably how you got flakes. I'm directly in the lee of Mt Mitchell so you can forget about anything here out of that direction barring a strong mesolow.
  2. Congrats to those who saw snow. Nothing here of course.
  3. I may have seen a stray flurry but nothing to speak of in the immediate lee
  4. This is the biggest snow in the first week of December the past 50 years. The 2018 storm was technically the 2nd week of December.
  5. Charlotte has barely seen snow this decade period. It rarely snows the first week of December anywhere outside the mountains. There are a few examples, especially in WNC, but it's more likely to snow in mid March.
  6. I hope some folks who haven't seen accumulating snow in 3 years see some tonight but its sad this is all we have had to track in years (within 24 hours) outside the mountains.
  7. Yeah, mid to long range is looking like crap again.
  8. I'll take things that aren't going to happen for $500
  9. All I see is 4 or 5 more days of at or below average then warm up and rain. What happens after that TBD.
  10. 23 here. Usually I'm colder than Rutherford. But I also live near the Catawba.
  11. Good compared to the last 2 winters but highly unlikely to produce.
  12. Coldest morning of the season so far at 26.
  13. Cold NW wind in the mountains of NC is not pleasant to me. Plus I have 2 boys who need to be outside playing
  14. Some people enjoy the dry, windy, cold but if there's no threat of snow, it's just a waste to me. I'm more interested to see what happens after this upcoming pattern because it does not appear one that's conducive for snow.
  15. Tried to tell y'all. It's looking like 5 days of below average then near average.
  16. Pacific is breaking down quicker on recent runs.
  17. I hope we can get the southern stream going a little this winter. It has been a pretty dry pattern after Helene for WNC. Next 2 weeks look very dry
  18. Operational runs are starting to show the relaxation period being extended and the trough being centered too far NE. Cold temperatures have backed off some too.
  19. Models look cold and dry. Maybe a system can sneak in
  20. Last night's Euro was very close about day 10. Gave some east of the mountains an inch or 2.
  21. First flakes of the season at the house. This was an overachiever. Hopefully a sign of things to come.
