  1. This post in the winter discussing a possible mid-month favorable snow and cold set-up… I’m like nahh not gonna happen and look at it skeptically. Here in the summer, I read it and I’m like yeah it’ll probably absolutely torch at least excuse possible… totally happening.
  2. Not right now. An entire month of -3F seems absolutely unfathomable. 86F here in the valley today. Average high is 71F.
  3. I don’t think people know what it’ll feel like if we actually get a -3 type month. Ice age stuff. And these are on the recent normals too, the 1980-2010 set would be even more.
  4. 84/48… another hot one… might get 87F or so.
  5. 59/55 at 10pm. Tonight looks like the “sharp temp drop in evening” time is over. No more 30s to low 40s. Last 6 days have been sunny high-diurnal days. Great stretch but it’ll come to an end. 3 days with mins in the 30s and 3 low-40s. Highs started in the upper 60s, with full sun, 6 days ago, only to end with highs in the mid-80s today. Nice progression over the past week of high-grade weather, but it’s like being a frog in boiling water. It just slowly sneaks upward over time. The first few days of June averaging +2.5 despite the coolish mornings.
  6. Don’t let the Door hit you on the way out.
  7. 46F for the low and tickling 80F at 11:30am. Fantastic.
  8. Another excellent evening. 55F now at MVL and local PWS, this is last hour’s obs.
  9. That 18z H5 loop is wild. Multiple strong upper level lows passing through, one snagging a tropical storm. This is a very snowy 2 weeks in the winter for someone, ha.
  10. Been 82-83F with full sun and low dews… I will say, after a quick dip in the ice cold river… anyone who says this strong June sun and 83F is “cold” when you get out of the water because the dew isn’t 67F is either drunk or high. Plenty hot enough to swim even with 48F dews.
  11. Almost a 40 degree swing already today. 80F off a low of 42F. Warm afternoons and no bedsheets stuck to asses, what a time to be alive.
  12. That's incredible, even when ORH is like 10F cooler. The new Lava Rock hilltop torch.
  13. Moss Glen Falls on the Stowe/Morrisville line. Largest in Vermont at 130 vertical feet. Scale doesn’t show up well in the photo. Nice day to be outside.
  14. 79/39 and had a 40+ diurnal swing. It is perfect out.
  15. Another min in the 30s with 38F last night, already in the 70s by 11am. Currently 72/39, about perfect.
  16. The long daylight, warm afternoons, chilly radiational evenings…. it’s just pristine weather. Down to 52F with a 10F drop in an hour as the sun goes down. The rad pits cool off well in this type of air mass the past few days. Low dews are the clue to radiational cooling. TAN at 54F and vacating heat.
  17. This is how you draw up a Saturday to start June. BTV is certainly enthused. We can look forward to a warming trend as we begin meteorological summer. Saturday looks to be gorgeous days for outdoor activities, with highs 74-82, plentiful sunshine and comfortable humidity. Area waters are still on the cool side with water temperatures in the low to mid 60s. Given that it is the weekend and with sunny condition and temperatures reaching the low 80s, cold water safety should be exercised for those taking advantage of the gorgeous weather. While upper ridging builds in from the west, we do maintain a light northerly flow below 850mb level so the air mass will be continental polar in nature. Dew points will be in the 40s so the weather will be gorgeous to be outdoors.
  18. 72F with dews in the 30s… got that Chamber feelin’.
  19. Yeah I doubt its truly below normal temps. Always take the over these days. This time of year seems to max out the disconnect from upper level trough to surface temperatures.
  20. Ring of fire look though, right? That type of pattern has a persistent deep upper low in the Mississippi and Ohio Valleys?
  21. 44F and had to close the sliders. Want to keep the 3 sliding doors open and have fresh air everywhere, but it’s dipping under 60F inside. Radiational cooling, and valley air conditioning FTL.
  22. 66/35…. If we go calm tonight it’s going to get cold with these dews.
  23. Ray would be in his glory if this were winter getting a solid reach around on the way out.
