  1. I know he’s just baiting, but I still don’t know if the historical significance will get there in his neck of the woods. If BDL is hottest July ever then we can talk. Back to back hottest months in the bag at the Mansfield COOP. BTV has joined the party, too.
  2. Hottest June ever at the picnic tables on Mansfield...and July will be hottest ever for BTV and Mansfield. Will BDL get into those categories?
  3. I don't think those mass production farms care in the least about chicken comfort.... I bet more die from heat and poor conditions than we know. They just keep churning them out.
  4. The ballsy bear cubs are getting more adventurous. A friend had a leftover burrito stolen from their jeep after stopping somewhere on the way home. Only a sandy footprint left as evidence.
  5. Speaking of summer's of "Yore"... pretty soon all the hot summer of yores will be gone. Replace by recent summers. In BTV, the last 3 July's are in the top 4 hottest since 1883, lol. This July will absolutely destroy the other ones after the next 3-4 days too, as it's already running decently above the number 2 slot from 2018. #4 is 2019. Every July just gets a little bit hotter.
  6. 77/64 Very comfortable sleeping last night. Gonna be a couple nights till we get back to that level. Might need AC tonight.
  7. Yeah the discussion is in 3 different threads lol.
  8. 66F currently off a high of 84F. Another fantastic evening.
  9. Is that 90ish at BDL and dews on the Davis?
  10. Funny thing is hearing folks mention how nice and cool it was this morning (54F at MVL) like it was abnormally chilly. Reality is it just got down to a normal July min for here (mid-50s). 83/57 right now, a tick above the normal max of 82F. July is going to end up very warm relative to normal once this next week sorts out.
  11. This is the Typhoon Tip gold we come for...
  12. BTV pulled it off in 2018, they might have done it twice even that year? They were like 85F with a 20mph south wind at 3am... I remember the AFD that morning was talking about palm trees and Caribbean winds.
  13. This is certainly notable warmth for the month of July up here for being in the last week of the month... these are big departures at the relevant ASOS stations in the northern half of VT. BTV... +6.0 MVL... +4.4 MPV... +4.3
  14. MVL has only been under 60F a total of 3 times in the past 16 days.... that is insane for mild nights. Granted it's mostly 60-63 lows, but that's impressive for a radiator in July. Tonight we probably get 50s with 63/61 right now, but even still, it'll just be upper 50s probably given the dews...and the rule that good rad cooling gets you to the mixed out afternoon dew point. Probably puts us around 56-58F min tonight. If the dews are high, our temps are going to have high departures. We usually have no problem getting 50s mins and occasional 40's following cold fronts. Not this year.
  15. We really hope that isn't the mantra going forward, ha. But it might fit more years than we'd like.
  16. That's good that it's still there at least.... it's probably a fantastic study in the overall range of emotions and issues relating to COVID-19 from the inception to mid-summer.
  17. Congrats. With the general tendency for increasing warmth year over year, you/we should have plenty of chances for summers of yore over the next few decades.
  18. He looked really healthy, good to see...well fed and no skin issues or missing patches of fur you see sometimes from bad tick infestations. Him and the dog stared each other down for a long time.
  19. Yeah he was a young male. Still was crazy though being young that I'm 6'2" and his back was taller than me.
  20. This evening coming down Spruce Peak on our daily dog walk we ran into this guy. He went down and stood on the work road for a good 10-15 minutes directly in our path and wouldn't let us get by, so we almost went back up top to take a different trail down. Eventually he did meander off trail and disappeared into the woods.
  21. We’ve been upper 50s today for dews. 81/57 is an extremely nice July afternoon.
  22. You only have had 1.23” this month? Scooter had me thinking the Lakes Region is getting an inch per day.
  23. Ugh. I really want those 90/50 days back.
  24. Yeah I think the tides are turning. We are ripping off 90s like candy anymore and it’s gotten wetter with like 4.5” water this month so far.
  25. That’s going to be interesting but need some penalties for travel if you are going to have a quarantine rule. Heres the Mass map. If you come from a red state, 14-day quarantine or $500/day fine. Even residents who travel and return home, automatic 14-day or get tested.
