  1. Looks like a decent storm in Waterbury, VT today based on this video.... props to the traffic flagger for making sure his sign stayed upright and forward. Never back down. It's like the guys putting the flag on the moon.
  2. Interesting way of looking at it... Whatever keeps the wife happy.
  3. Part of that just looks like we get lucky or unlucky depending on your point of view... but it’s still a hot pattern into Canada that we might sneak out of for a bit underneath it.
  4. Cool pocket underneath the over-the-top heat while Canada bakes some more?
  5. BTV with at least 95F so far again.
  6. Looks like day 6 of 90F at BML and HIE. HIE with at least 92F is solid. I’m seeing a brief 90F here at MVL on the 5-min obs but will have to wait till 00z for confirmation.
  7. Quick downpour left about a tenth of an inch of rain...not enough to do much of anything but jack the low level humidity up.
  8. We must have been warm in 2003/2005 around this time. Those are all the Mansfield record highs we are beating by a degree and most of the rest of the month seems to have those years prominent.
  9. Holy shit ha. The one thing is for all the record heat it hasn’t triggered a heat advisory or product.
  10. BTV at 93F and climbing. This is comical at this point. Putting up mid-90s daily like they grow on trees.
  11. Mansfield already up to 80F, old daily record was 78F. This is the 6th daily record max in a row.
  12. This is some real high end heat for the BTV CWA. MVL got to 88F so far but rain cooled air has it at 82F now. Still plenty of time to recover to 90F with these temps aloft. We are also going for day 6.
  13. Been very hit or miss lately. It's funny the past few days seeing CoCoRAHS amounts of 1-3" in some spots but then surrounded by literally nothing. Like tiny little footprints of inches of water.
  14. Yeah that’s crazy how localized it is this time of year. That’s a lot of rain in a fast period of time.
  15. I'm all for anomalous weather... get some records or noteworthy stats out of it. I have been thinking that like 85/70 might annoy me more. This hasn't been a humid heat, dews are higher with these storms but good mixing dries it out. Then again, I think if it was more humid we wouldn't be able to achieve this run of temps. Usually in a hot stretch there's at least a day or two that might have temps knocked back, but this has been sustained great conditions for high temps in areas that don't see this type of thing.
  16. The mountain valley radiator sites have done 5 days of 90F... but BTV has taken it to another level with 94/94/96 for the past three days. That's a sustained "mid-90s for highs" type of torch.
  17. Some real heavy rain just south of Waterbury. Not sure if @J.Spin got into it but radar estimates are 2.5-3.5" in that area. ...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 945 PM EDT THIS EVENING FOR WEST CENTRAL WASHINGTON AND SOUTHEASTERN CHITTENDEN COUNTIES... At 744 PM EDT, While rainfall has ended across the warning area, prior radar estimates suggest that around 3 inches of rain fell in the Duxbury area. Localized flash flooding or high water remain likely over the next hour.
  18. The novelty is wearing off, ha. It was fun for a few days. I could use a high of 78F for a day and then it can come back. Thursday through Saturday have highs progged in the mid-70s with dews in the 40s and 50s, so that'll be a nice change. Thursday Partly sunny with a chance of showers. Highs in the mid 70s. Chance of rain 30 percent. Friday Partly sunny with a 40 percent chance of showers. Highs in the mid 70s. Saturday Partly sunny with a chance of showers and thunderstorms. Highs in the mid 70s.
  19. Holy sh*t... BTV pulling a 96F today (two hourly obs of 95F too, that's high end heat). 00z obs are in with the max temps over 90F. All of them seemed to be in the northern/western flank of New England, from NNH/NVT down through Berkshire valleys and CT Valley and into CT. BTV... 96F CEF... 94F BDL... 94F AQW... 92F HFD... 92F DDH... 91F LEB... 91F MVL... 91F HIE... 90F BML... 90F
  20. BTV with 5th day of 90F or higher is now the longest stretch of such heat in June since 1883. Old record was 4 days of 90F.
  21. Summit torches continue. All within 4-6F of their all-time maxes again. 6200ft... 66F MWN 4900ft... 76F Whiteface 4000ft... 81F MMNV1
  22. Haha good point. Don’t need the back-sweat while grilling and chilling.
  23. This is heat of yore. Full send with 5 straight 90F days so far.
  24. HIE and BML also 90F again. This is an insane run of torch for the north/west flank of NNE.
