Sitting in the pool with a frosty one makes it almost pleasant
All the vacationers up here at the mountain keep going “ok, now time to find some air conditioning.”
Nothing like summer weather that makes you want to go inside.

GFS is a late Mon BD, Tue recovery, and then a Wed weak cold fropa. Then the cooler airmass moves in late week.
BTV already on the COC watch next week.
“Cold front should be through by Friday with high pressure gradually moving east from the Great Lakes for a Chamber of Commerce day with sunshine, light winds and temperatures in the 70s and Friday night lows in the 40s/50s. &&

86/72 is pretty impressive for 11:30am up here.
Need the afternoon terrain Cu towers to try and block some insolation.

It feels like a steam bath outside right now. Thick, heavy air. 70/66.

All we need is powderfreak to post tomorrow morning that he got a “surprise” half inch overnight. I don’t think I’ve had a half inch or rain in 2 months
Reverse psychology always works wonders. Less than 24 hours later a deluge and gully washer.

I try not to talk about to avoid it sounding hollow, but it’s been drier than normal here. Its like in winter when everyone is having a bad snow year… though you are closer to normal while some folks see record low totals over a period of time.
Can’t complain up here when you see what’s happening elsewhere. Today we got skunked though. Cloud deck and lack of heating limited instability. Just a brief enough shower to wet the pavement at the mountain. Nothing in town.

I see a 4.74", so no doubt somebody got 5.
Summer precip foot prints are wild. One place can wait 4 months to get what another can rain in 90 minutes. Luck of the draw.

There's a good correlation to secondary and tertiary rounds of heavy rain leading to flash flooding too. First round primes the pump, the second has nowhere to go but run off.
I’ve got my father wigging out over the sump pump ha. Closest station there at 4”. Some approaching 5”?

I think we both know the answer to that
As soon as the first cell popped up and looked stationary I knew that was trouble. That’s a lot of water in a short period.
And there’s stuff behind it if it moves out. Every 15 min is like another inch of water.
3.50-4.50” town wide now. Some legitimately may go over 6” with the stuff coming in behind that.

Congrats Albany
My hometown of Delmar is getting soaked. Cells just sitting there and back building.
Might see 3-6” of rain to be honest. Just not moving at all.

I guess I have the DIT thermometer then. I haven’t had problems before so I’ll have to recalibrate it.
Hudson Valley has 95-98F. Your 97F could be right.

Damn. That’s some T/Td combo right there.

If you take a temp of 83.4 and dewpoint of 61.8, you have to go back to the days of Abigail Adams who had a mercury thermometer on thy thatch roof.
That summer was so hot in 1873 that Abigail had to bathe more than once a week for the first time in her life. Thy stench supported sustained dews above 70F.

Been a minute since we’ve seen any Stein, Noyes, or Fisher tweets. Nice to see those back.

Surprised this comes at a shock. Was mentioned here a few days ago. Seemed like a real good probability there would be mid/high clouds, at least in NNE given the proximity of the boundary off to the West.
To be honest I didn’t follow it much, just going with the NWS forecasts.

MHT/OWD up to 94F
Widespread low 90s in the urban lower els now. It feels underwhelming for noon.
78F at noon up here. Forecast going down in flames at this point.
Forecast max HI here was 96F for today with max temps 89-92F.
.NEAR TERM /THROUGH FRIDAY/......Significant updates made to cloud cover for the remainder of the day which has a large impact on the expected temperatures. Mid clouds ahead of a surface boundary to our northwest raced into the region much faster than preciously anticipated blanketing most of the CWA in broken to overcast skies outside of southern Vermont and the central/lower Connecticut River Valley. This has put a halt on surface warming with many locations holding in the mid/upper 70s. Based on these trends and incoming HRRR/RAP/NAM guidance, knocked back high temps across northern areas by a good 3-5 degrees

Too many clouds up here. Was hoping for a real torch.
Been rotting in the mid-70s for like 3 hours now.
75/66… the dews are back.

I’m sending it your way. Enjoy!
It’s coming. The ocean tide of dews is coming in.

They look like they have a nice patio... looks like a cool brewery. Had never heard of them, had to look it up. No beer here until this evening.
