  1. Almost baseball season. At least Red Sox just showed something of a pulse giving Raffy Devers the largest contract on record for a third baseman.
  2. Pretty mixed signal there on that map . At least the positive anomalies are localized.
  3. Yeah I thought I remembered some holiday week snows. And maybe just before up here too. One of the better skiing holiday weeks the past two decades I think if remembering it right. Feb 2013 obviously turned things around down south.
  4. I thought that winter had some solid December snows. Maybe it was more NNE. I remember that holiday period being very snowy.
  5. I agree even though fully guilty. I wish I remembered more to post in Banter if it has no weather relevance. I’d move my posts, and went to sports forum after initial posts. It definitely used to be different. 20 years ago, no one pressed “send” or “post” unless it absolutely had to be said and was well researched/reasoned. That was if you thought you were worthy enough to hear from on list-serves, bulletin boards, etc. Social media has changed things. We never used to share feelings with weather at the beginning. Now it’s largely the conversation.
  6. I guess I'm going and hoping on there have been skiers who have fallen very hard and gone into some sort of arrhythmia from trauma of hitting chest just the wrong way.... only to have the AED shock up to 4 times and make a save. Those folks usually end up taking breaths on their own though.
  7. Yeah just saw that and edited. That's a good sign. AED showing a pulse is what I'm seeing reported, that swings the odds back the other way quite a bit. Very critical but there's hope.
  8. It's super sad, CPR means he's probably gone. 24 years old? Edit: Now sounds like an AED was used, that's a good sign. That meant he had a pulse still.
  9. 18z GFS kept something on the map. Just get the grass covered fully again would go a long way.
  10. Reggie not biting as much up here but that’s a good 0.25-0.5” as sleet for Maine coastal plain posters.
  11. Lol yeah but the data points are for the first time it does it. You think that one in October stayed above 24”? Many of these years went back below afterwards. It’s linear on average but not in reality.
  12. lol the wet blanket was on that like white on rice within minutes.
  13. Honestly it’s more personality differences than anything. Some are glass half full and some are glass half empty people. In all aspects of life.
  14. Here’s the thing with New England skiing… maybe 10% of the days are truly crap conditions and terrible. Like the day after it rains and now it’s 6F outside. That’s crap. Even three days after that it’s much better with more grooming. There are 10% of days where it’s truly awesome and great skiing that is memorable. Then there’s 80% of the bell curve that’s just “New England skiing.” It can be good on some trails, horrific on others, it’s a mix of snow and ice, etc. It’s variable. It changes wildly throughout the day. it changes depending on the lift you’re riding. Great at open, terrible at closing. You can usually find some good trails, and you can find some bad ones. Thats New England.
  15. Vicariously through Utah these days to be honest. Being on calls with western counterparts is rough these days. The Park City team and Tahoe crew (Heavenly and Kirkwood) are loving life. Everyone has comments about how much it's snowing, just keeps coming, etc. Park City cams look nice this evening. Radar shows the Wasatch just getting raked by bands curling in from the SE. Looks almost like a nor'easter style radar picture, just with 10-13,000ft peaks mixed in there. Park City is at a relatively low elevation at the base there. I think town is like 6-7,000ft? Base of Alta is over 8,000ft.
  16. Those are two high-end chases that were nailed. I'm not going to lie, I like the style. Just forget about thinking about local snow and enjoy going wherever the biggest impacts will be. Seems a lot more exciting and fun, ha.
  17. It’s never going to snow again, true.
  18. 10" in November and 23" for December. Probably a bit below average (just a shade?) but good enough for consistent snow cover before today, ha.
  19. You get the synoptic, we get the fake snow.
  20. Some signs of something to turn it fresh white again by EOD Thursday. GFS EURO GGEM
  21. Good luck to him. I always wish I had race training as a kid. Can always tell those who did based on edging and angulation as adults.
  22. Ha, still had a few nice days. All about looking at the positives to frame one’s outlook. Positivity annoys some though .
