  1. That’s better. Enjoy the sun. It honestly looked like a cloud and wasn’t clear in that other shot.
  2. Is that supposed to be the sun? It looks like a cloud. Im honestly not following?
  3. Ever since his “breaks of sun” photo from a couple weeks ago showing like 3 different cloud layers but if viewed at just the right angle to the horizon the middle layer was broken barely enough to show blue… it’s hard to know if the weather is actually nice or it’s just summer enthusiasm.
  4. Thanks, forget it’s still nice even when the weather is crappy. But I need a few straight sunny days to avoid a summer melt here soon .
  5. Of weather that makes people drink? Heres right now. Rain stopped, just some mist. Ceilings at 2,000ft… sort of claustrophobic in the valley as the mountains disappear into the clouds on all sides. Its either this or smoke.
  6. So all last night and then most of today there’s been these standing thunderstorms on the north slope of the Adirondacks. I wish I could loop a radar past 12 hours or so. It’s just been sitting there in N.NY in the same area since last evening. Radar estimates are now in the 8-10” range and they just keep gushing water.
  7. Mid-level magic in July is just awesome. Always being about 15 miles away from dry but the band keeps invigorating overhead.
  8. I think I’m summer it’s real easy to get different perceptions because wet usually comes with some dews that’s elevate minimums… while folks see clouds and rain and “cooler” temps in the daytime. It would be interesting to see maximum and minimum departures. And like you said, June we usually rush summer temperatures a bit too fast, when normals aren’t there yet. So expecting 85+ every day makes it feel cool if it’s like 75F… but that may actually be normal.
  9. Up to 0.73” when I emptied the Stratus. Driving through town seeing the families out looking for breakfast all decked out in rain gear and shorts with umbrellas… holiday weekend vibe with shit weather .
  10. Just shy of 0.50” very quick this morning, with possibly a little more to come. Very efficient rainers for feeding the mushrooms.
  11. Might actually get some drier weather in here than it looked earlier. Euro flipped from very wet for multiple days to much better outdoor weather up north between the 6z and 18z runs. Favorable shift south.
  12. Nothing like that crisp clean haze limiting the sky and visibility to 5 miles.
  13. Looping the GFS and GEFS it is amazing how persistent the lower heights are around us and NW of here. It gets some brief SW flow at times but its wet and active. Looks like it would be a great winter pattern. Now we just get humid, clouds and occasional rain.
  14. Not nearly as smoky as the 1-2 mile visibility stuff but pretty widespread 3-6 mile vis haze.
  15. Damn. That’s a party. We’ll played.
  16. Can see the haze is back... no where near as bad as it was last weekend though. Only 150 AQI instead of 250+.
  17. Lol looks like a nice lawn. Anything but a tropical jungle is Stein? Cutting it short will always leave it vulnerable.
  18. Don't look now but we've hit 80 degrees with partly sunny skies. There it is after a week of clouds and rain.
  19. "Wet in some spots"... the aerial coverage of wetter than average out-paces the drier than normal across the region by a decent amount. Mother Nature drenched a lot of acres this month.
  20. We put the dog in one of the bathrooms that’s center-most inside, with blankets and music. She still hates it but it’s a lot better than anywhere else. She doesn’t shake nearly as much. The town fireworks are essentially in our backyard. It’s 20 minutes of WWIII for animals. When she was 1 year old, she was outside by accident when they started and she fled in panic. I went to the first place I could think of that she goes when in doubt, and found her covering her body in water in the middle of the river; like you see animals go in a forest fire.
