Most lower spots across the area were again well down into the 20's for overnight lows. Here in East Nantmeal we could go no lower than 36.6 degrees. We have yet to experience a freezing temperature here in EN....if we can make it through Wednesday this year would be the latest first freeze in the 21 years I have been at this location. Clouds are on the increase, and we will finally see our first widespread rain since September 29th across the area. The rain should start from west to east around the 7pm hour and be over before the Monday morning rush hour. Be careful if you are out driving this evening as rain will be falling on roads that have quite a bit of built-up oil and leaves. Tomorrow will be the warmest day of the week with highs back into the mid 60's but by Wednesday higher spots in the county will struggle to escape the 40's for high temperatures and we could see a pretty solid freeze by Wednesday AM.

Seasonably chilly day today with highs just a couple degrees below normal levels. Sunny today and finally some much needed rain tomorrow evening into the Monday AM commute! We warm to above normal temperatures on Monday before we chill back to normal readings for the rest of the work week.

We cool down over the weekend to near to below normal temperatures. A freeze is possible by Sunday AM. Some higher spots who have yet to see a freeze have a slight chance at that time. Showers look to arrive by Sunday evening with a general 0.50" of much needed rain possible. A slight warm up Monday before we cool down to close to normal for temperatures for much of next week.

Seasonably cool temperatures in the 50's by Saturday. We also have our best chance of rain since late September by Sunday afternoon into the night. A brief warm up to above normal temperatures to start next week before we trend back to cooler by mid next week.

Yet another beautiful day on the way! We could see near record warmth across some areas today. We turn a bit cooler but still a little above normal as we move toward the weekend. We also should see our best chance of widespread showers in a long time come later in the weekend. Fingers and toes crossed!

Here in Chester County PA we have recorded measurable snow in 75 of the 132 years since 1893. Our last significant November storm was 6 years ago in 2018. Below are the largest November Snowstorms in County History from oldest to latest occurrence.

Happy Election Day! No weather excuses for not getting out there and voting today across the area! Yet another beautiful day in our new California-like climate!! We warm to the low 70's today and the upper 70's tomorrow. We then start a cooling trend that will last through the weekend. We also look to have our best chances at rain in over a month by later in the weekend...if we do get the rain on Sunday we will see temperatures struggling to escape the 50's for high temperatures.

For example, Warwick Park recorded their 13th such low this autumn season while ridge locations like East Nantmeal have yet to record even one such day. Looking at the forecast going forward some of the higher spots have a good shot at setting new records for the latest in the season to record a first freezing temperature. As has been the case since September....not much to talk about weather wise with continued dry weather for the entire week with our next chance of any showers waiting till Sunday. Warming temperatures through mid-week and then we cool back to closer to normal by the end of the week into next weekend.

Below is the Climate Summary for Chester County PA for October 2024. Of 18 reporting stations 12 finished with above normal temperatures and 6 with below normal temperatures. Overall we finished at 1.8 degrees above normal for October. This is the first month since July that we finished with overall above normal temperatures in the County. It was for most locations one of the driest Month's on record with most spots recording no rain at all.

We start off November with temperatures near to below normal this weekend. We could see another freeze in the typically colder lower spots and frost in ridge locations overnight tonight and again on Sunday night. We warm back into the low to mid 70's by Wednesday before another cool down toward the end of the week.

After this morning's "sprinkle" event with 0.01" of rain here in East Nantmeal Township that ended our dry streak at 32 days we clear up this afternoon and turn windier and chillier. A slightly chillier than normal weekend ahead before we warm back up to near 70 degrees by Election Day next Tuesday. We cool a bit again by the end of the first week in November.
