  1. We set a new record maximum low temperature this AM as we only dropped to 63.2 here in Chester County PA. This breaks the old mark of 62.5 set back in 2015. We will break another record overnight tonight as we should again stay above 60 degrees. The current record for November 7th is the 57 degrees set way back in 1912. We should see temps fall back to near normal during the middle of the upcoming week before a slight rebound to above temps before much colder and below normal weather arrives by next Sunday. I suspect the 2nd half of November will average well below normal temps to balance off much of the early month warmth.
  2. Today's high here in the Philly burbs of Chester County was 75.1. This was the warmest day since September 21st. We only saw one day over 70 degrees during the entire month of October. The record high minimum record for overnight tonight is 62.5 set back in 2015. We may be close to that warm record tonight! Go Phillies!!
  3. Dry and very mild weekend on tap across Chester County and the Philadelphia area - highs should reach the 70's both days. Cold front crosses the region later Monday with temps dropping back to normal levels with high temps in the mid-50's. The record high for today is 78 degrees set in 1975. The record low is 21 degrees from 1949. The daily rain record is 1.56" set way back in 1896.
  4. Dry and unseasonably warm weather should continue through Monday. Then we slip back toward normal by Election Day. The record high for today is 80 degrees from 1974. Our record low was 21 degrees from 1952. The daily rainfall record is 1.81" set in 1947.
  5. Our great stretch of autumnal weather will continue with well above normal temps through the middle of next week. We will then cool back to about normal. Mainly dry weather except for late Saturday night into Sunday AM. The record high for today is 82 degrees set back in 1950. The record low was set the very next year with a 17 degree reading in 1951. The daily rainfall record is 1.24" from 1910.
  6. Warm and dry weather will continue for the rest of the week. High temps will average almost 10 degrees above normal levels this week. The record high for today is 82 degrees set in 1982. The record low is 20 degrees from 1923. The daily rain record is 1.72" from 2018.
  7. 0.15" of rain since last night. October finished as our 2nd straight below normal temperature month with an average temperature of 52.0 which is 2.1 degrees below normal. This is out 2nd consecutive below normal month and the 5th such month across the first 10 months of 2022. This October is also the chilliest October since 2008. Of note that is the last time the Phillies won the World Series...just saying! The record high for today is 84 degrees from 1950. The record low is 22 degrees from 1928. The daily rainfall record is 2.78" from 1956.
  8. We are past peak here in the western burbs of Philly but....still hanging on to some nice autumnal colors! Go Phillies!!!!
  9. Clouds on the increase today with some shower chances increasing this evening and becoming likely by late tonight. Hopefully the steadiest rain holds off till late night so the Phightin Phillies can play Game #3 of the World Series without delay - Go Phillies!! The record high for today is 81 degrees in 1946. The record low was 19 degrees in 1925. The daily rainfall record is 1.80" in 1951.
  10. A near normal temperature day today with plenty of sun. Some light rain is possible tomorrow...hopefully not enough to impact Game 3 of the World Series (Go Phillies!) After that we should warm to a nice above normal stretch of Indian Summer weather with high temps in the mid to upper 60's for the rest of the first week of November. The record high for today is 82 degrees set in 1946. Our record low is 21 degrees set in 1928. The daily rainfall record is 1.48" in 1935.
  11. Some lower spots like Marsh Creek bottomed out below freezing this morning. Only made it down to 35.6 here in East Nantmeal. Nice dry weekend in store with temperatures remaining in the 50's by day with 30's again tonight. Next chance of showers will be Monday PM. The record high today is 79 degrees from 1946. Record low is 23 degrees from 1976. The daily rainfall record is 4.04" from 2012. Go Phillies!!
  12. Nice autumnal weekend on the way. Temps will struggle to escape the 50's for afternoon highs. Rain chances increase on Monday PM. Following that much warmer weather with above normal temperatures likely for at least the next 10 days. The record high for today is 84 degrees from 1919. The record low is 17 degrees set in 1936. Daily rainfall record is the 1.60" in 1902.
  13. Our gloomy weather will finally break today. Over the last 4 days we have received 0.58" of rain. October has been a wet month with rain on 11 days so far. Total rainfall this month has been 6.41" this is the 14th wettest October with records back to 1894 for Chester County PA. The wettest being the 9.12" that fell back in 2012. Temperatures should average slightly below normal through the upcoming weekend.
  14. Our drizzly foggy mild weather will continue today with a couple of showers possible. We have picked up 0.09" so far today. We finally clear out tonight with mainly sunny weather through the weekend. Temperatures will cool to highs mainly staying in the 50's through the period. The record high for today is 79 degrees set in 1963. Our record low is 24 degrees from 1950. The daily rainfall record is 2.35" set in 1943.
  15. Drizzly, foggy and mild weather continues for the next couple days. Finally clearing by tomorrow night with temps falling back to normal to finish out the week. We have picked up 0.37" of rain over the past 3 days of gloom. The record high for today is 80 degrees from 1900. The record low is 22 degrees set back in 1952. The daily rain record is 2.31" from 1980.

  17. Some light rain or drizzle will be possible across Chester County this PM but hopefully not enough to slow down the Phillies game this afternoon in Philly. Most of the rest of the week look dry and mild to start with highs well into the 60's. Temps will fall back to normal levels by the end of the work week. Go Phillies! The record high today is 85 degrees set back in 1947. Our record low is 22 degrees from 1969. The daily rainfall record is the 2.81" that fell today way back in 1912.
  18. A couple beautiful autumnal days on tap both today and tomorrow across Chester County PA. Highs today will be close to normal. Tomorrow highs will be slightly above normal. A chance of some showers with a low moving up the east coast by later Sunday. The record high for today is 85 degrees set back in 1947. The record low is 19 degrees - the earliest sub 20 low set back in 1922. The daily rainfall record is 3.13" set way back in 1904.
  19. It looks like most spots across Chester County remained just above the freezing mark this morning...but quite a bit of frost once again. The next couple days will continue with below normal temps before warming to near normal by Saturday. Of note yesterday was the earliest measurable snow here in Chester County when 1" of snow fell in 1940. The record high today is 82 degrees set in 1969. The record low is 21 degrees from 1972. The daily rainfall record is 2.48" set in 1988.
  20. Many spots across Chester County fell to freezing or below including here in East Nantmeal where we fell to 32.2. We also have quite a bit of frost to go with the freezing temps. The growing season has ended at 182 days between freezing temps (last on April 20th) Below normal temps will continue through Friday, warming to above normal by the weekend into next week. Dry weather for at least the next week. The record high for today is 83 degrees. Record low is 22 degrees from 1974. Daily rainfall record is 3.14" from 1996,

  22. The NWS has posted a freeze warning for Western Chester County and a Frost Advisory for Easter Chester County for overnight tonight into Wednesday morning. If we do see freezing temps tomorrow morning that would end the growing season at 182 days. Our last freezing temperature was on April 20th. The growing season averages 172 days in the lower elevations of the county below 430 feet and 186 days in the higher elevations. The average date of first fall freeze is October 14th in lower spots and October 24th in the relatively higher locales. The shortest growing season in County history was the 119 days back in 1956. The longest season was 233 days back in 2005. The record high for today is 89 degrees set in 1908. The record low is 22 degrees from 1974. The daily rainfall record is 1.98" from 1911.
  23. Slight chance of some showers today as the cold front crosses the area. Temperatures the next 4 nights will fall into the 30's across Chester County. High temperatures will struggle to escape the 40's both Tuesday and Wednesday. We should see temperatures rising to slightly above above normal toward next weekend. The record high for today is 89 degrees set in 1908. The record low is 25 degrees in 1937. Record rainfall is 1.30" in 1932.
  24. Another beauty of a day today with highs running a couple of degrees above normal. The well advertised cold front will cross the county from west to east early Monday morning. High temperatures Tuesday through Thursday will struggle to escape the 40's more typical of Late November than mid October. Record high today is 94 degrees set way back in 1897. The record low is 27 degrees from 1939. Daily rain record is the 1.66" that fell in 2019. Go Phillies and Go Birds!
